We rented a tandem kayak just past the Marche Atwater. Paddling the 3.6km stretch was fun, but the scenery kind of rundown industrial.

This area is just a fad. Seriously don't loose your time going all the way there. Unsafe, bunch of drunks and homeless, dirty and cyclists on the bike path were aggressive.

A wonderful place to walk or stroll. Very green and has some fantastic views. Perfect for a sunny evening. A bit isolated at time. Not recommended for late evening visits.

The beautiful tree lined bike paths are wide, multiple, and not overcrowded. The bike rental people were friendly and directed me to a sunset spot and a surf watching spot. I wanted to bike around the island.
Then I looked at the people in the canal with rented boats as they relaxed being carried by the flow of the gentle water. I wanted to jump in a boat and paddle. I wanted to paint a picture.
Then I realized I was hungry and Atwater Market was just over the bridge.
Food won! The food there included made on the spot chocolate, pasture fed meats, amazing breads and pastries, varieties of imported cheeses, organic veggies, bottled milk, italian goodies, and more I can't remember.
It is a spot offering a great day of exercise, fun, good food and pleasant people!

This is a nice place to talk walks or do a bike ride or have a piknik. The view is scenic. You can see the buildings from downtown. You can also rend bikes or small boat. It is nice to have some green areas in the city.
