We came here for my friends bachelorette party and it was an absolute blast! None of us spoke french but it was still an awesome time! The bride was taken on stage and she loved it!! The performers were SO good and SO funny!! Highly recommended!!
We went to this club on a Tuesday night. The show starts at around 10 and the entrance fee is 6$ each. The show was mostly in french but even if you don’t speak french, you ca really enjoy the great music and perfect performances (as my anglophone friends did). I seriously recommend going to Mado if you’re visiting Montreal.
We got to the bar early as we were in the area and thought we would stop in for some drinks before the show. Needless to say we were hit with a 15 dollar cover which for two gay travellers who have been to many shows we felt was high. We debated for a bit because that seemed steep but finally went in. Only after we paid we were told there was no sitting room in the whole bar....the whole bar was empty but every table was reserved. Great. So we get a drink and wait it out as bachelorette party after bachelorette starts filling in the place. Our side near the door gets full up with parties which to each their own so we move to the other side of the bar near the lotto machines. That’s where we meet the rudest bar tender I have ever met.
We get to the bar on the other side of the room and just stand there. On the counter is a reserved sign, just like every table in the place, which is still mostly empty. The bar tender rudely tells me I have to move as the counter is reserved, but the show doesn’t start for another hour and a half? I move to the corner of the bar and my partner and I just go back to our business. After 5 minutes he again rudely barks at us. He tells us that the bar is for people who are drinking only, so I show him my beer and say I am and then he points at my partner and says well he needs to be drinking too. I tell the bartender that my partner does drink. He then says the bar is for paying customers (like I got my pint of beer for free) and that we need to move. At this point the show is not starting for at least another hour. Needless to say his aggression and demeanour put a huge cloud over our evening and we didn’t have the heart to stay through the whole show as after that we committed to not giving this place another dime. If your curious who the rudest bartender in Montreal is you can recognize him by his brown hair and beard and the palm leaf shirt he bought at old navy to delight his otherwise cold heart.
Also the drag show was meh.
I took my 24 year old daughter, (I'm a mom), as I had made reservations many places for us to visit while in Montreal. We had never been to a drag show, so why not! It really was a great time. A lot of French but that's ok, even though we did not understand some of it. They also spoke a little English. The dancing was fun to experience and watch these guys and gal put on a great show. Glad we went.
Great show! Although the host speaks primarily in French we were there for the entertainment and were not disappointed.
A group of us went here for a bachelorette party recently and we had a blast. Entry fee was $25 and it included a drink ticket. The show started around 11:00 p.m. and there is a 30 minute intermission halfway through and they play music so people can dance. Then you have part two of the show which ended around 1:30 a.m. It was a great show overall and the performers were very good. I speak French so was able to understand the jokes and all therefore people who don't speak it may find this part of the show boring but they do throw a bit in English throughout. I highly recommend it.
