“Comfortable, Clean, & Peaceful”

We would happily recommend the Plateau Suites for your stay in Montreal. My husband and I visited Montreal July 5, 6, & 7th, 2013. When we arrived at the Plateau suites, Luke the owner genuinely introduced himself and showed us where to park on the street which was free, close by and safe.

The location of the suite is very convenient to many good restaurants, coffee shops and shopping. Although it is in an area of many things to do, you are also tucked away and the street is very quiet. The subway is walking distance so no car is needed. (Luke has a binder with maps of subway routes and of the surrounding area which was helpful in getting to know the area.)

The suite is spacious and clean with amenities such as Wi-Fi, air conditioning, mini refrigerator, microwave, French press coffee maker, coffee cups, wine glasses, utensils & plates. The kitchen/living area has a couch with a two seat Kitchen table and balcony. The bedroom has a comfy queen size bed, TV, and a big window. There is plenty of space to keep your luggage out of the way in the open closet with drawers and shelves and hanging space. The bathroom is a nice size. Just remember to bring soap and shampoo. But if you forget no worries there are grocery stores close by.

We will visit Montreal again and when we do, we will definitely contact Luke and stay at his lovely place.

We came in very late at night and there was a parking spot right in front of the house. We parked the car and did not move it till we left. Luke, the owner, lives downstairs - he showed us the place, how the key worked, and explained where to find the metro, a grocery store and restaurants. We stayed in Suite #1.

We loved our little apt in Montreal! There is a small kitchenette when you walk in, a table and two chairs. We ate our breakfast out on the balcony. There is an amazing boulangerie right down the street. In the kitchentte there is a small fridge, a microwave, a french press, and a set of dishes - glasses, plates, wine glasses. There is no sink in the kitchen area - so we had to wash the dishes in the bathroom which was a little awkward.

The bed was very comfortable and there are shelves and hangers in the hallway between the bedroom and the bathroom. The bathroom had a nice rain shower and a heated floor.

We really enjoyed the neighborhood - there is a Metro really close by, and a number of bike stations. A lot of great restaurants, and stores. We loved sitting on the balcony in the evening - we felt like we were a part of the neighborhood.

Luke was very easy to arrange everything with - and for the price we could not have been happier with the place and the stay.

I was looking for something quiet, affordable and in a residential neighborhood. I found Plateau Suites and am SO HAPPY I did. The accomodations were superb. I stayed in Ste. #1, which was fine for my needs. The location was ideal, the Metro was literally a block away, and the location was just far enough off of the main street to be quiet yet still close by. The suite was spacious, the bedding was clean and soft, there was free Wifi (important for me), the en suite bathroom was sumptuous, and the owner was helpful. My only complaint is that I was only there for a short time!

Room Tip: If you plan to mostly eat out and there are 1-2 people, Ste. 1 is sufficient. The sitting room was r...

I love this suite, it's full of light, it's got a good location, close to the Métro access to downtown and close to the bus station. Really well renovated, airy and big, it's got to be better than any hotel room!

Room Tip: Suite #2 is the best room.

SERVICE
Right from booking this felt like a really good choice. Luke communicated quickly when I had questions before we arrived, and the correspondence was clear and had useful info. He was SO friendly when we arrived after a looong day travelling from the UK, gave us a swift tour round our studio as he appreciated we were tired! He was on hand if we needed anything, but we felt independent at the same time.

STUDIO (2)
Really clean and nicely laid out. A little balcony with seats too, which was nice. The kitchen has everything you need for simple snacks and meals, a microwave, hotplate, toaster, grill, kettle, coffee maker; dishwasher and fridge. Heating / cooling appliances a-plenty. Situation was quiet and we slept well. Comfortable bed with lovely bedding. Bathroom has heated flooring which was lovely! Plenty of cupboard and shelf space in the studio for all our stuff. Plenty of space for 2 people, though we had the bigger studio.

Just outside the door on the landing cupboard with loads of cleaning materials, including a washer and dryer, with plenty of liquids etc. Really useful and thoughtful.

LOCATION
The location is excellent; safe and quiet. Laurier metro less than 5mins walk, this gets you pretty quickly to Downtown, and other areas - we went to the Ice Hockey at the Bell Centre on the metro and it was only around 25-30mins door to door. 5mins walk in the opposite direction a corner shop which seems to be open all the time, and stocks useful items such as water, milk, (excellent) local beers, snacks, toiletries etc. Then a little further (maybe a 10min walk) is L'Avenue Du Mont-Royal street, which has LOADS of restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, supermarkets, cashpoints etc. We went to St Viateur Bagel (a must visit), and also took Bagels back to our studio for the next day's breakfast.

OVERALL
We loved it here, and we loved Montreal. Would definitely stay here if we are ever fortunate enough to visit Montreal again.

- Get a 3 day pass for the public transport, it's great value (working out around £4 per day).
- Visit La Casa del Popolo, amazing place with great local beers and delicious vege food (we're not vege!) and try and catch a gig there if you can too
- Deffo go see the Canadiens play!

I stayed in Suite #2 and enjoyed all the amenities of home. This room is slightly bigger than Suite #1. The Plateau Suites is located near fun shops and good restaurants. Another plus is having the Metro about 2 blocks away. Just be prepared to walk up and down the stairs to the Suite as their is no elevator access. Wear good shoes as you will most likely want to explore this lovely neighborhood!

The other reviews say it all and I agree 100%. We had the rear suite and enjoyed the extra space. We were able to see the front suite after the other guests left. Either one would be fine for a couple. If we go with our teen age kids (one boy16 and one girl18) these suites will not be big enough. We parked our car on the street right out side the door for the two days we were there and just walked or used the metro. Safe quiet neighborhood.
