Owner description: A famous market until 1963, this structure now houses various offices of the city government.

This is a distinctive building in old Montréal but what's inside? A 'street' of stylish boutiques is the answer, and a cafe or two. The cafe des arts is a nice informal place to lounge and read a book. The upper floor houses events – there was a chocolate festival when we were there. Worth a visit.

The outside of this building is worth looking at. Once inside, it is quite run down, and the shops remind me of those in a subway, or airport, but just with more expensive clothes. It seems that most sold hats, scarves, and some women's clothing. They didn't even shovel the snow from the entrance.

Great venue for a gala! Food and drink was top notch. Large space too! Enjoyed the views of Montreal.

The structure from the outside is incredible and the maintenance of the building is well done. Once inside, you will encounter a mini mall that is attempting to mascaraed as artists market. Though there are several art galleries in many mediums of paint, stone, and so on, most stores sell clothing. Though I was grateful since I did purchase a very nice sweater I guess the description I read somewhere as an artistic adventure left me wanting to experience local artisans but what I got was not that at all.

The building is beautiful and now houses shops for local and Canadian artisans. Prices aren't cheap though. Good place to go for paintings, jewelry and other art. There's a restaurant downstairs but it was closed when we were there on a Saturday. All the shops are on one floor with the restaurant in the basement and art galleries and offices on upper floors. It's located in Old Montreal near shops and restaurants.
