“Interesting thought-provoking displays”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 13, 2014

the biosphere really is an interesting looking structure and it alone is worth the trip out to the island. The environmental museum inside is interesting and kids likely would enjoy it because there are lots of hands on displays. Unfortunately the observation deck was closed for the winter as it looked to be a good vantage point to see the inside of the complex.

“Get the real story on B-2”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2014

If you remember, the popular media treated B-2 like the Big Brother reality show (who will sleep with who). Take the tour and get the real story - about science. Sure, the place is a little dated, but the facts and stories about the 2 missions are fascinating. Our tour guide worked there when the project was going on and spoke with pride about all the features of the place and related several stories about obstacles the Biospherians overcame. You will walk away with an entirely different understanding of this project and its accomplishments. And the "lung" is amazing.

Buy the Tucson Fun Book of Attractions to get the 2 for 1 ticket deal. It pays for the price of the booklet immediately.

“Noisy, busy, needs a facelift!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2014

It was a good idea ... but the place is getting old. You can see how many of the exhibits are aging poorly, and the upkeep is just minimal at best.

Some part of the pathways weren't marked very clearly,.. not even sure what it was that I was looking at... the staff there are friendly thou.

Probably won't go again..

Visited the biosphere in the past, it is situated on the lovely island steps from the subway. The day I was visiting they were showing the water exhibition.
