Owner description: Located on Ile Notre-Dame, the 4.361 km-long Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve hosts the Grand Prix du Canada, as well as biking, in-line skating, jogging and walking enthusiasts! PARTIAL CLOSURE The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve will be partially closed to cyclists, pedestrians and inline skates enthusiasts from May 15 to September 4, 2017 due to the mounting, the hosting and demounting of major events, to maintenance work done on the circuit in preparation for the Grand Prix du Canada, and to the STM bus circuit to Jean-Dore beach. This partial closure means two things: • The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve will be accessible to cyclists, pedestrians and inline skates enthusiasts for only 43 non consecutive days this summer, from May 15 to September 4, 2017. Visite the Parc Jean-Drapeau website for the detailed schedule. • A portion of the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, the "Hairpin" area, will be inaccessible at all time time from May 15 to September 4, 2017.

The track is easy to get to on the Metro and is located on one of 2 beautiful islands in the middle of the St Lawrence (see our other review). The sights and sounds and smells of F1 should be experienced once in your life by anyone who has ever longed race a car around at high speeds. There are crowded party areas and other areas you can be almost alone, depending on what you want. The track is great with very high speed straights and good slow corners for viewing - hairpin at east end is best for that. Blow the dough once and enjoy the richest sport in the world !!!

The Circuit is shared by cyclists and rollerbladers alike, and offers a great scenary in a wonderful Island. Easy to access thanks to the metro station close by and lots of parking spaces. Enjoy a ride on this popular and crowdy road made for F1 and hosting lots of events!

You can jog, bike or roller blade there. The F1 circuit is wonderfully well maintained so it is perfect for roller bladders to get back on their wheels... Park your car in Old Montreal and head off for a wonderful time. Bring a windbreaker as it tends to get breezy. Calculate two hours to thoroughly visits the site.

We were staying in Old Montreal, and biked the path from there out to the track. The bike path to the islands was pretty twisty, so take it easy to avoid collisions, but once on the island, it was great. Once we made it to the track, it was a blast. Many cycling clubs use this as a training place, and it was getting busy, even on a Sunday morning, but well worth it. I'm sure the grand prix race is an amazing sight, but this was pretty cool, too. If you're traveling with a family, it's well worth cycling over (even if you rent bikes) and riding the circuit. You go through the old World's fair pavilions on your way there, and once on the track, you ride past the Olympic rowing venue. And, being able to say you've ridden on a Grand Prix circuit is pretty cool. A great way to spend a morning, but I do recommend getting out early before it gets too crowded.

If you enjoy F1 racing then if you are around June in Montreal you have to watch this GP. One of the most technical, beautifully located GP circuits in the F1 lineup. Great people, fantastic roaring experience, if engine noise does not bother you, great weekend experience.
