Owner description: A traditional Italian neighborhood located in the northern part of the city.

Montreal's PR folks have done a wonderful job selling the city's various neighborhoods via flowery descriptions in the "Things to Do" literature because one feels to not go is to miss something important. I was disappointed every time. The exception was Little Italy but only for dining. Otherwise, the neighborhood was not special or particularly different than others.

I liked the multi-ethnical feel and the great variety of items offered. Plus the market was just great for the eyes, the nose and the palate, of course!

great shopping, especially at Milanos on St-Laurent blvd, and one street west on Clark and Mozart or Dante, is the great home cooking of 3 Maries. restaurant, located on the corner. Friendly and fab food, not expensive, all fresh ingredients, welcoming too.
