This is a replica of St-Pierre-de-Rome. although interesting to see the colors are faded, dirty and the whole place requires care. It is nice to go inside if you wish to relax from downtown noise.

Very beautiful Cathedral, very open, but very gorgeous and the paint colors of the church are nice. The ceiling is spectacular. We didn't get to take a tour but we caught the last part of the 12:15 Mass en français. The alter piece was incredible. Definitely a sight worth seeing.

I liked the almost total silence of the space. The interior was spare but large and inviting. Whatever religion you practice, this Cathedral is worth the visit.
Sit and contemplate. You don't find places so friendly to the spirit and soul as this.

Go for a tour and then high tea at the Queen E. next door and overlooking the basilica. Also look in at the lobby of the Windsor (formerly the Windsor Hotel), lovingly preserved and restored. They're very welcoming to anyone who wants to look in. We went late on New Year's Eve and then again just before a wedding. What spot for it in the grand hall and adjoining rooms. More fun and less stuffy than Rideau Hall.

I was exploring the neighbourhood around my hotel when the sight of this Cathedral stopped me in my tracks.
