Owner description: Saint Joseph's Oratory of Mount-Royal, founded by Saint Brother André in 1904, is a catholic sanctuary and the largest shrine dedicated to Saint Joseph in the world. We welcome everyone to partake in panoramic views, music concerts and special religious celebrations; come discover natural, cultural and spiritual treasures in the heart of the city. You will marvel at the votive chapel containing 10,000 candles, the Oratory Museum featuring nativity scenes from around the world, the Original Chapel, the spectacular Garden of the Way of Cross, the Crypt Church and the largest domed Basilica in North America.

A vast imposing structure that kept making me think of the Lord of the Rings. Unlike many churches of this size, the inside art and architecture has a distinctly modern feel. We walked there through Mont Royal and it was a great combination.,

I use to live in Montreal and most visits I will visit the beautiful place, first time I had to pay $5 parking but now I know why, with all the renovation they made and elevators for the elder who can't do the stairs anymore it was well worth the parking fee, and of course the beautiful structure and and respect for any language for visitors out of town they try their best to help in any which way. I am personaly great full for that. Can't wait to visit again.

This church seems to have its own park! It's situated in the côte-des-neiges neighborhood, walking distance from the côte-des-neiges metro station on the blue line. When you get there the view is a bit awesome. You can walk up a total of 182 steps (if you avoid the interior escalators), and once you get to the top, you get a really great view of the north west part of the city. It's definitely worth the visit.

Attended an Organ concert in this great edifice dedicated to Brother Joseph. Has the 64 foot pipes and I wanted to hear them and the major organ.

Beautiful church, beautiful grounds. Inspirational and moving.
The artifacts and story of Fr. Andre inspire.
