“Old City a Charming Place to Stroll”

Cobble stone streets, lovely shops and excellent restaurants. This is a lively place to stroll, window shop and eat.

“A Trip Back In Time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2012

A visit to Old Montreal is like taking a trip back in time - it's a small slice of Europe here in North America. Many of the buildings here date back to the 17th century and house various shops, art galleries, restaurants and cafes. One of the best things to do here is sit and watch the street entertainers that perform here in the summer - jugglers, magicians and musicians. The area is a bit of a tourist trap, but fun nonetheless. I would also like to point out that Old Montreal is not very disabled-friendly. People who rely on wheelchairs or those with other mobilty issues will find the cobblestone streets and steep hillsdifficult to negotiate.

“A great place to wander”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2012

We went to Montreal with little in the way of specific plans, deciding to spend an afternoon wandering in the Old Port area, and we had a great time. There are tons of shops to browse, foods to eat (everything from traditional Montreal and French foods to Polish and Portuguese) and attractions to see. This is definitely a must-see area while in Montreal.

Old Montreal is a must-see when visiting Montreal. Numerous restaurants and shops but also a lot of nice spots can be found there easily.
