Since you cant see it you dont know its there but its a city under the city. You can walk dry in long distances without knowing what whether its outside. Many shops includuding the attached malls. Anything from icecream and mobiles to clothes.

The Montreal is a fascinating place. There is plenty of shopping as well as coffee and pastries. It's a great place to spend a cold snowy day.

Well the undergroud city was amazing trip for me. Take your time, look around, pay attention to details and the different decors, shopping is not the only thing that surprises you.

Were in Montreal and it was -20C. We visited and shopped around without going outside. Isn't it lovely to be able to do everything without putting a coat on ?

just a large shopping center, therefore like any other in the western world, same shops, same logos, same stuff.
In fact in is a combination of several linked centers, all alike.
all underground, (several levels), links to the metro, many food courts, but we could not find a single restaurant (i.e. with chairs, table, menu, waiter, wine)
If you get lost, ask anybody where is the infocenter, only they seem to know how to get somewhere, people in the shops (the half dozen we asked) are just as lost as you, except witin their shop, and they may ask you: "how's the weather like outside?"
an Android app could be useful, there are maps, but with instructions printed font 6 in black, on a dark purple background..
no concern for energy wasted in excessive bright lights (mostly incandescent),
.....
but it is warm, no snow, no sluch, only poutine to indicate in which city you are.
