The Montreal Museum of Art is a reasonably priced ($15-$23 Canadian) stop in your visit to Montreal. We were able to enjoy all the permanent exhibits in 1.5-2 hours, you could stay longer and enjoy the special exhibits as well.

Unless you’re passionate about the main exhibition artist, skip it and for $15 see the permanent collection. We spent 3 hours getting through all the galleries. Plenty to see and a fun museum to explore.

If you’re staying downtown connected to the underground tunnel, you can take the metro to Concordia and walk 1 block outside and avoid taking a heavy winter coat!

Located directly downtown Montreal is very accessible to all...reasonably priced and even free some times during the summer
Lots of restaurants around also so a great all day activity for the family...

Do visit the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts even you are you now art-lover it is still worth to spend time there to appreciate how and what this museum has to offer. Piece of advice is to have your ticket ready from hotel so Q isn't necessary

This Museum was a highlight. I visited the National Gallery in Ottawa and the Vancouver art gallery, but this one is far superior. Plenty to see, lots of variety and a large interesting exhibition space. Well worth a visit.

There very good reason why this is Montreal’s most visited museum, it is fantastic, wether you are an art lover or not, this is well worth a visit.

First we did the smart thing and bought our admission tickets at our hotel. The line on a wet cold day to buy admission was really long. We found some of the exhibits interesting but the buildings (yes more than one) was confusing. Finally exhausted we said enough and returned to our hotel.

We visited the Museum of Fine Arts in August 2018. We really enjoyed walking through the exhibitions and appreciated the underground pathways to the attached buildings. We were able to take in the Picasso exhibit while we were there.

Good collection with strong collection of Canadian art. Enjoyable experience. Good Calder collection.

Confusing layout with multiple buildings and underground passageways.

My second visit to this world class facility was equally gratifying! The focus was French artist, Alexander Calder, who art is perfect for Montreal- a Calder City. There are also works from Monet, Picasso and others from the impressionist movement as well as modern and traditional art on view.
It was particularly gratifying to see children visiting this museum, where they will be exposed the best qualities of life present in Art! It is a very worthwhile experience that should not be missed! Very Highly Recommended!
