We only spent 1 night at the Ritz, but it was absolutely fantastic. Redone in the last 5 years everything is modern and automatic everything; window shades, lights are on sensors, heated floors in the bathroom, automatic dimmers, fireplace. Maybe this makes me a humble traveller (I don't think so) but I was truly impressed! We had a Japanese toilet too! The rooms on the back court yard are not the most private with the residences and office buildings close by, but it was not a bother. Great fireplace, very very clean everything. Great location in the heart of downtown. Sunday brunch at the Maison Bouloud is outstanding, so is their solarium and duck pond if you're there in season. Great staff the few times we interacted with them. Can't say anything negative if I tried. Highly recommended.

This is a true 5 start downtown montreal hotel located near everything. They just completed a $250 million renovation in 2010. The rooms are high tech while being old world. What really makes this hotel special is the service. EVERYONE at this hotel treats you like you are a VIP guest.

We just stayed at the Ritz for 4 nights celebrating my 50th birthday. This hotel is so luxurious and the staff can't do enough for you! They think of everything you could possibly need. The hotel is beautiful, we were upgraded to a Junior Suite, it was large with a sitting room and writing desk, it had a huge walk-in closet and the bathroom was gorgeous with rain shower, huge tub and Japanese toilet with a heated seat! A delicious chocolate cake was brought to my room for my birthday with a lovely note! The infinity pool on the roof was beautiful and serene with a great view of the city. The pool area was so clean, not crowded and there was a lovely breeze up there! We had dinner at the hotel one night and it was excellent and the service was outstanding. The dining room, where breakfast is served, is open on one side with a lovely garden and pond with white ducks, it's a tranquil area to start your day. The service at this hotel is the thing that stands out the most, I have never been treated so well anywhere!

My husband and I arrived after a long drive from dropping our son off at camp and were thrilled with this hotel's modern elegance. Our room, a junior sweet, was spacious and luxurious. The large pale marble bathroom had an enormous soaking tub (ahhh) and one of those almost ludicrously over-designed japanese toilets that does everything but seranade you when you use the facilities. All joking aside, the conceirge was extremely helpful with a wonderful route for our walking tour of the city and dinner plans. We mentioned our in-room cocktail preference to the bellboy in passing, and later that night the mini-bar had been restocked. We can't wait for an excuse to go back.

This is an outstanding establishment with customer service like no other. From the moment you walk in the door they greet you by your name – amazing service considering it is quite busy. The rooms are outstanding with state of the art technology, bathrooms that are an excellent size and a bar that serves the best vodka martini in Montreal. I usually stay for business but have had the pleasure to bring my family with me on several occasions and ALL staff do the utmost to ensure that we (especially my daughter) feel extra special –i.e. special delivery of cookies, bath products for little girls, a child’s rob and slippers. They greet her with a smile and by name and she absolutely adores it there. We are starting to go to Montreal just because she loves this Ritz so much. All staff are excellent but to name a few would be – Veronica, Director of Guest Relations and her attention to detail makes our stay exceptional, ALL the front desk staff (Irene and Angela) as well as housekeeping, bell staff and door staff (Andre is the best!) and personal touches like notes from the management make all the difference.
It is comforting to see the same faces whilst away from home during business or when you bring your family with you. The location is fantastic and is very convenient. I would highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is top notch in every way. We were here for a special occasion and, having notified the hotel of this ahead of time, they made our stay even more special and personalized. Room was fabulous with a beautiful bathroom, comfortable bed and every amenity you can imagine. One thing to be aware of is that the hotel is located in the museum quarter, which is is bit of a hike from Old Montreal. Museums and shops are closed Monday and when school is not in session, it's quiet.

We will be back!

Two years after their remodel this hotel is simply elegant. From the great pool with terrace, comfortable rooms, terrific gym and incredible bathroom. Service was excellent, beds were super but what was the most talked about was the toilet!
Anna the concierge was outstanding! She was one of the most helpful and pleasant individuals I've met in any of my hotel stays. She hooked us up with great restaurants and recommended shopping as well as sights for the kids. She is a keeper!
Would definitely return - highly recommend this lovely hotel!
