Owner description: Ste-Catherine Street is divided in two parts by St-Laurent Boulevard: East and West. The West Street is home to Complexe Desjardins, one of the most important skyscrapers of the city. The area is near the University of Quebec in Montreal and is home to shopping, music venues and the Musée d'art contemporain de Montreal.

I'm not a shopper, so this wasn't my cup-o-tea, but I'm sure there are people who love it. I was looking forward to going to the street fair that I saw going on, but the day I planned for it, it rained - and it wasn't going on during the week

Great place to shop, stroll, be entertained by buskers, or just to sit in one of the many open air cafes and watch people. This is one of the best streets in a very vibrant city.

The street seems to have lost its heart and looking very run-down, especially around the Cathedral area. The new centre seems to be further down where the food trucks are allowed to park and sell their wares.

Went to a few bars and walked around. Safe and clean. A few seedy areas. Not worth a trip trip to here but if your around check out the street and shops.

Rue Ste Catherine is a very long street that will take you through at least 3 different neighboods. There are several malls that are connected via an underground walk way. The shopping is commercial but it is a good way to spend an afternoon. There are usually street performers out and about that are great to watch!
