An evening in Montreal is not the same without time spent in the bars and clubs here. You will find a club to your liking within a short walk of wherever you start.

“A wonderful outdoor shopping area”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2013

Rue Ste.-Catherine is home to high end boutiques and a definite shopping destination. Busy and lots of people, but unique stores from the Apple Store, Forever 21, Le Senza, HMV, Aldo, Nine West, you can find almost anything. Just off the street itself there are other shops with more interesting off-beat fashion. Editorial is an example. They have a wide assortment of alternative fashion items from designers. And once you finish shopping, you can see a movie or drop into the Montreal Underground shopping area and get lost.

“Retail Prices + Enormous Sales Tax . . .”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2013

Not for the kinda shopping US residents want to do. Stuff is cheaper in US by about 20% b/c the taxes they tack on are almost 15%. Taxes in US are less (if you can believe that). No new cutting edge stores either, or out of the ordinary. Typical Old Navy, Bananna Republic, Zara, etc. Same stores we have in the US. Save your money & go shopping in Shangai, China. It's worth the airfare b/c you'll be spending just dollars on purses, shoes & clothes and not hundreds like in Montreal!

“The everyday shopping street”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2013

St. Catherine is a great street. It changes as it crosses the different neighborhoods of the city. Starting on the west (at Westmount) with fancy stores, going through Concordia area (students area with lots of middle-eastern and Asian food places), Downtown (all the brand stores, big and small including the Bay - a department store), then crossing through Place des festivals (All the great cultural street events, such as the Jazz festival), Place des arts (performing art complex) and ending in the colorful gay village with great restaurants and promenade. Just walk and shop, as long as you have the budget ready.
