Owner description: Ste-Catherine Street is divided in two parts by St-Laurent Boulevard: East and West. The West Street is home to Complexe Desjardins, one of the most important skyscrapers of the city. The area is near the University of Quebec in Montreal and is home to shopping, music venues and the Musée d'art contemporain de Montreal.

A must for all gay travelers to Montreal, quaint yet hopping, all ages, something for everyone here from quiet pubs(relaxe), excellent restaurants (saloon/le planete), dance bars (Sky/Unity), low key locales/beer (le stud), to full nude strip clubs (Stock)

Parts of it are gross, some are fun, depends were you are going but definitively worth to ge, just to feel the atmosphere and see the Montrealers in their environment

Ste-Catherine is great for shopping and deals. However, it is often very crowded and mostly offers your typical stores: for real 'character' shopping, I'd advise going to St-Denis or St-Hubert.

Lots of sites and sounds to be seen and heard. Alot of activity on this popular street. Restaurants, shopping, people watching is among the many fun things to see and do.

This is not touristy. This is very local. If you walk between University and Guy you will rub shoulders with real Montrealers and shop or dine in places that are close to home and work. Although we no longer work in the downtown core we are here frequently and look back fondly on the days when we would go for a walk along Ste. Catherine at lunch time.
