“Tour of the City”
Reviewed April 30, 2013

Just sit right back and you here a tale.. a tale of a fateful trip.. that started all aboard this big bus.. got ya...a nice tour of the city. Wished we had more time to stop at Olympic Park-- but someone from our tour got lost at Notre Dame Basillica and we lost time. A great way to spend a morning.

“Long tour, not very exciting, hard to understand”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

Montreal City Tour.

On a large coach bus, very cold outside.

Bus drive is the guide - he said the actual guide didnt rock up for work, so he had to do it - Im not sure if he was joking or not. His first language was French, and so the accent in English was hard to understand, and due to there being two French people on the your he would repeat everything he said in English to French, which meant there was a continual talking and you couldnt quite pick when he changed from English to French.

Tour highlights were either old, not operational, too cold to look at for long, or not very interesting. No real stops for food etc - one stop at some kind of run down RSL club, which had vending machines and bathrooms - stop was only for 5minutes.

Information overload, some of it not interesting or useful, I counted 5 people asleep for some of the tour.

Expects a tip and said so to everyone - we didnt tip.

Its an ok tour, but there are most likely better ones out there.

He did recommend we all go to Dunns restaurant across the street - which we were thinking he probably gets kick back from there. Food is GREAT here and authentic smoked meat - this is a must.

“Nice tour of Montreal but cold......”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

We took the Grayline bus tour of Montreal to get a sense of the city. The driver "Jean" (sp.?) was very knowledgeable. We enjoyed the tourist sites such as old Montreal, churches, gardens and the different parts of th ecity. The only downside was the timing of the visit - end of March is not a good time to tour Montreal. The weather was raining and cold and we didn't get too much opportunity to go out and walk about the Botanical Garden and some of the churches.

“For the non-Montrealer.”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

Parking and driving is always an issue in Montreal, so these varied tours are a good way to see the highlights. I prefer to use the excellent metro and bus system to get around and see what I want. That is a whole lot cheaper.
However, for those not comfortable with that - and needing some expert commentary on the sights and sounds of the city - then this is a good way to become familiar with those areas you may wish to spend more time at later. The guides are normally quite competent and helpful. The buses are generally comfortable and clean.
