We stayed there on the recommendation of family members who stayed there in October 2010. Nothing but great things to say about the hotel. I never thought I'd enjoy a small hotel (it's only 24 rooms) but this hotel surpassed our expectations. The front desk personnel were very knowledgable; the rooms were immaculate and original; the location was superb. So close to the View Port of Montreal as well as downtown part. We could walk around and then rest and then go back out again; felt very safe there. I'd stay there again anytime!

We decided to take a 2 night interlude in Montreal during a trip to Vermont. It was our first overnight trip to Montreal in many years, and based upon the recommendation of a family member, we chose Le Petit Hôtel.
As we checked in, we realized the location was perfect, in the heart of Old Montreal. But that was just the beginning. During our brief stay, multiple staff members provided us with insights and recommendations regarding dining, shopping and touring. They all truly know and love Montreal, and they took time to ensure that we found what was of interest to us.
We stayed in a "medium" room, which was adequate in size, and the modern decor was very inviting. It made a very nice contrast with the old style architecture of the building. The shower was superb, with side panels containing four adjustable jets to complement the large overhead fixture.
Finally, breakfast was amazing. The pastries, particularly the croissants, were fresh and plentiful, along with cereals, yogurt, and fruit. And lattes and cappuccinos were served in addition to the coffee and tea.
We tend to prefer boutique hotels over the large chains, but this truly sets a standard that is not easily matched elsewhere.

We went to Montreal for a day bike ride and stayed at Le Petit Hotel on the recommendation of a friend of ours. We were immensely impressed by the staff, who eagerly helped us with our bikes and gear and took care of our car. The room was nicely outfitted and the king bed was perfect. You can walk to fifty restaurants in five minutes (We visited Bocata while on this stay) and all of the old town and port are right outside your door. The lobby cafe serves excellent espresso-based drinks and the included breakfast had some of the nicest bread we have ever eaten. We will return to stay here as it really couldn't be topped. Thank you!

My husband and I spent two nights here during a two-week driving trip through Ontario and Quebec after flying into Toronto from Mississippi. We picked this hotel based upon prior trip advisor reviews and were very pleased with the service and accomodations. We were very glad that we didn't pay more money to stay at a more expensive "chain" hotel, because with all the great places to walk and bike right outside the hotel, there was no need or time for a hotel fitness center, and good restuarants abound in the neighborhood.
The owner has done a great job preserving the old stone walls while adding upscale and modern amenities and furnishings. The staff was extremely nice. Breakfast was a treat with wonderful croissants.
One glitch was that the larger room we had booked on line was not available when we checked in, but since we had prepaid, they gave us free parking instead, and the "small" room was still a quiet and comfortable retreat in a great location.

Probably one of the nicest small hotels in Montreal. The location is great and they have valet parking which was a benefit since I arrived w/ a car from New York City.

The staff was extremely friendly, very informative, and all seemed like knowledgeable locals that love their city of Montreal. I was really impressed with the service and the help.

I highly recommend the XL Room mine was 208 and it had a king bed large window. I also noticed a Nintendo Wii. However I was impressed with the dual flush toilet and shower panel.

If I return I do plan a repeat stay at Le Petit Hôtel. It was a great experience and awesome room.

Montreal is the perfect retreat for a girl's weekend and Le Petit Hotel was the perfect temporary residence. The king room was spacious and comfortable, quiet and cozy. The bathroom was great with an amazing shower that I could have moved into. But the absolute best thing about the hotel was the staff. All Montrealers who loved their city, they went out of their way to recommend places that weren't the local tourist trap down the way. Every last restaurant recommendation was great. The location of the hotel is perfect, easy access to everything. Definitely make sure that you get out to the neighbors that make up Montreal, though. There is definitely more to see than just old town. The food markets are a lot of fun.....the Bixi bike rental system is perfect for the city.....the museums are great....restaurants are fantastics and Montrealers are unbelievably friendly.

Room Tip: We stayed in a King (301) was perefct for two friends travelling together.

I can't really add but just agree with all the previous positive comments. The hotel is great. Great location, super great staff, great breakfast. The room was small but neat, clean, and adequate. The bed was huge, comfy, and wonderful. The bathroom was small but the shower was large. There was no place to put a suitcase which would have been nice but there was ample closet space for our clothes. I really can't say enough about the staff. There were about 6 guys on a rotation during our 5 night stay and each was as helpful and friendly as the last. They were always cheerful and enthusiastic to help with questions, service, recommendation, and reservations around town. We have traveled all over the world and I think this may be the very best hotel experience we have ever had. Often almost everything is good and then there is something that goes wrong or just isn't right. Not here. It's all perfect. Book early. I think this one is going to get hard to book into as word gets out. I know I will be telling my friends. Some specifics. The location is perfect. We could just walk one block down and we were on the canal were we ran two mornings and took a long bike ride another. Walking down the street to the left revealed many lovely restaurants just a few blocks off the tourist track. A few blocks to the right and you are right in the middle of the tourist action. A few block straight into town and there is a large subway stop going all over town. It is at the center of the action.
