“Great hotel for Hotwire rate”

Excellent hotel with Hotwire rate. Rooms have been upgraded, bathrooms small yet very upscale. Nice bar.

We needed a place to sleep during an overnight layover in Montreal. We chose the Crowne Plaza because it looked like it had a great swimming complex with slides, etc. You can imagine my disappointment when we get to the hotel at 6:15, check-in, and discover the pool was closed at 6pm. I can understand 10:00 or even 9:00, but 6:00?? I didn't think to ask when the pool would be closed because NEVER have I heard of one closing so early. i won't go back.

My wife just stayed here Mar 28-31. She emailed today to say that she woke up this morning with numerous bites. Upon looking around, she found bed bugs in her room. We had a problem with bed bugs a couple years ago so she knows exactly what they look like. Be warned!

Hotel was recently refurbished and clean. Rooms and bathrooms comfortable but small and noisy (earplugs supplied). Very comfortable bed. Free wi fi. Inexpensive quality breakfast. Helpful fron tdesk. Nice pool

Difficult access because there are limited, poorly marked underpasses to get to the other side of the divided highway. If you go too far east in order to turn back to the airport you will arrive at the gridlock of the Decarie interchange.

Stayed overnight with my partner and 7 kids (his, mine and several others) for my son's 9th birthday party. Booked 2 adjoining rooms with a cot for $20 extra bucks at a gov't rate and it probably cost less than his last party. Pool has a great slide and was the selling point to booking this hotel; lifeguard on duty...kids had a great time swimming.
Front desk service was great...I called several times to ask for a fridge and a cot in the weeks previous to our visit and always had great service, even gave me pizza menus to order for the kids when they finally dragged themselves out of the pool.
Rooms were modern with flat screen tv's and comfortable beds. Sign warning that rooms were being renovated...only indication was in the bathroom, where the paint was peeling a bit and the tub could use some updating. Despite that, new fixtures more than made up for it.

The physical appearance is good since newly renovated. The room has almost everything you need, internet, LCD TV, safe, iron, and more. The service was friendly and outstanding.
Here are the drawbacks:
1. There are only two outlets in the room, one in the bathroom and second on the desk.
2. The house-keeping needs to clean the excessive hair from the bathtub.
3. All vending machines from 2nd to 6th Floor are "out of order". You have no choice but to use the mini-bar. The manager simply said that they called in for couple weeks, but it's not done yet.
3. The breakfast buffet can definitely be better.
4. The house-keeping vacuums the hallways in the middle of the night disturbing my sleep.
5. The mattress and pillows aren't comfortable.

Overall, it was a good choice of stay.

Awarded this on Priceline. A Dorval Airport property. The first thing I look for, once I've gotten past basic safety, cleanliness, and decor, is the availability of a convenient electrical outlet for my laptop. This renovated room fails the test -- no electrical plug by the bed, none along the wall beside the bed. Fortunately, I brought an extension cord and was able to jerry rig some power from the electrical plug built-in to the desk light. I'm using it to write this review. The wireless internet signal is strong (I'm on the 5th floor), and there's no sign-in mumbo-jumbo to go through.

The room is clean and functional, but small. The bathroom is also quite small. Not what you usually associate with the Crowne Plaza brand. The only chair in the room is the desk chair -- the room is probably too small for an easy chair, so it's not great for curling up with a book, or watching TV from a comfortable chair. For those of you bringing your earthly treasures, there's an in-room safe. There also appears to be a locked honor bar. And, there's a bottle of something on the bed. Inspection reveals that it is a bottle of linen mist, presumably for inducing some kind of aromatherapeutic state prior to slumber.

The carpets in the hallway are a strangely disturbing red-grey combo with some circley things along one side only. Do not attempt to navigate the hallway while intoxicated or on strong medications. Perhaps the in-room linen mist helps overcome the disorientation caused by walking the hallway.

In the elevator waiting area, there's a blast of air from a vent in the wall that easily equals the ones used to dry a car in a car wash. I mean, the artificial tree is swaying in the breeze, and the pages of the top newspaper in the pile of newspapers are blowing.

That's about it. There's a flat-screen TV on the wall; you can use it to watch the Canadian curling championships.
