“Tiny french restaurant with a twist.”
Reviewed July 8, 2014

We had the 55$ per person surprise dinner with 2 appetizers, salad, two main courses, veggies, and desert. It was wonderful. They don't have a bar, bring your own wine.
Food was beautiful, original, and darn tasty.

“Consistently Excellent”
Reviewed June 6, 2014

This was our fourth time eating at Grenadine and as always, it did not disappoint; in fact, it rivalled our very first visit there for quality and service - outstanding. Grenadine is fairly small, seating about 25-30 people, but the two chefs (one who is the owner, who is always there -- as it should be, and a very wonderful person) in the tiny kitchen fill the place with flavour. The menu changes seasonally here and they are always doing something special to accompany the main menu (which has about five choices for appetizer and five for main course). The menu is meat-centric, but they do have a "vegetarian option" and this restaurant was first recommended to me way back by my most vegetarian friend, who still considers his first visit here to be one of the best meals he's ever eaten in Montreal. The tasting menu, selected by the chef, is always worth it for the surprise factor and overall design of the meal, but with all meals you get a choice of soup or salad to start and often an amuse bouche right when you order, which is a very welcome touch. Everything we ate last night was superb, and the desserts were unbelievable: we ordered three of the four available, and they were all perfect (someone at our table had a food orgasm, which was delightfully uncomfortable to witness). The driving force is French-Quebecois cuisine, but with a range of other influences and creative combinations that take some dishes completely elsewhere -- and to be able to bring your own wine is such a valuable treat. We also had outstanding service here last night, as with every other time in the past; everyone is really lovely and considerate who works at Grenadine. A real pleasurable dining experience, time and time again.

“It's a tradition”
Reviewed June 4, 2014

Every year I go to the Grand Prix in MTL, and for 3 years have eaten at this gem on the day of arrival. The staff is amazing, the first year we went, our flight had been delayed, putting us behind schedule and moving slower than normal. THe folks at Grenadine called us when we landed to make sure we were still coming and when we told them we were behind schedule they said dont worry they will stay open for us. The food and ambiance matched the level of service in every way. I have never been dissapointed. Bring our own Vino too! Small, unassuming cooking great food. It is everything I want in a french bistro.

“So Close But So Far From St. Denis”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

After walking from our hotel up St. Denis, passing restaurant after restaurant filled with happy people eating plenty of good - though typical - fare on this pretty spring evening, we knew when we walked in that something else awaited us at Grenadine... and we were 100% correct. This inventive, rich, and inviting menu lures you in with promises for a different dining experience. And it delivers. Warm and friendly service, the BYOB policy, the excellent pacing, and the cozy atmosphere top things off just like you want them.

“Excellent”
Reviewed May 5, 2014

Found this place on Trip Advisor and am so glad we went. It`s a small place, but big on taste. We tried the tasting menu and were quite happy we did. The food was fresh and flavourful, and presented beautifully. It is BYOB, but do try the non-alcoholic cider. We`ll definitely will be back next time we`re in Montreal.
