Ordered the curry shrimps for a starter, that was very tasty and the balance between tastes and spices was perfect.
Then took the trout with cashew crust, a very interesting dish. Make sure you get the white wine reduced sauce which adds a kick to the dish.
The mandela gin cocktail and their lemonade are excellent.
Was disappointed by the mango cake desert, which had high expectations - i would have put a 5 stars rating if the cake was matching our expectations (it was too sweet)
I still recommend this place/ perfect for an easy couple night out or friends gathering

This restaurant is a gem. It is next to impossible to find traditional Central and West African food in many cities, let alone in a fine dining setting. The cuisine had incredible flavors, and the service was friendly and perfectly timed. We ordered a take on poutine, with fried yucca, gravy, braised beef and goat cheese. We tasted a "pulled" tilapia and plantain chip appetizer, which had just enough crunch and heat. I enjoyed a smoked chicken main course with soft cooked greens and a plaintain fufu. My husband loved the goat and manioc fufu with a rich gravy surrounding the tender meat. What a treat!! Great spot for date night.

The young lady who waited on us was friendly and translated everything, slowly and clearly into English for our non French speaking friend who is vegetarian.
The food is not traditional African from any region but an African fusion. The results are not always what you were expecting but nice.
Nice selection of cocktails and fruit juices.
It is a small restaurant so make a reservation.

Another jewel in the Montreal cultural food scene.
Pan-African slightly more focused on South Africa

Deep and interesting flavours and scents.
- chilled squash soup (refreshing - outstanding) with a nice spicy bite and crispy plantain
- mixed spiced shrimp on avocado and greens with fresh(!!) mango and papaya
Roasted lamb with a perfect Demi-glace, Tanzanian peas, plantain
- Macreuse de boeuf on pureed plantain and sweet potatoes
- ginger and dark chocolate torte.
- mango and chocolate cake
-2016 Papagee Cinsualt (private import)

Great selection of dishes (vegetarian, chicken, lamb, beef, fish of the day, shrimp) with nice African spices and side dishes including several with plantains. Be warned if you have a peanut allergy: nearly every dish had some sort of peanut product cooked in it. I had the chicken dish, which was very smoky and tender. The sides of greens and mashed plantains were phenomenal. Not too spicy, but spiced with flavor!
