Wonderful location on a quiet street on the Plateau, close to Metro and Rue St-Denis. We chose a very small room, but it has a balcony we made good use of. (In the winter you might want to book one of the larger rooms, as there isn't an interior common space.) Wireless access was seamless. The shared bathroom is spacious, well lighted, and immaculate. Breakfasts were ample and delicious. The hosts are attentive and helpful, and went above and beyond when it came to garaging our car. We'd happily return.

Staying here was an absolute pleasure. The room we stayed in was enormous with a street facing view. Overall a very charming place. The hosts Ephraim & Yves were excellent. They helped me out with parking, they provided tips and suggestions on what to do, and provided an outstanding breakfast every morning. The location was perfect, we were able to explore a good portion of the city.

I will definitely be coming back soon!

stayed here in October 2013. very charming place, excellent location - super close to the metro. quaint and quiet neighbourhood, walking distance to shopping and the metro. awesome breakfast (delicious). owners Ephraim & Yves were super friendly and funny. just pack light, there are several flights of stairs to climb. would stay here again because it was so charming!! my first visit to montreal, and it was a good one.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful b&b during our stay in Montreal during the f1 weekend. We discovered it by sheer luck through google searches and after a bit of deliberation decided to book
Upon arrival from the outside it is just like the rest of the houses on the street, you then walk in through the (code protected) front door and it's like something from Harry Potter as it is bigger than appears. A lovely entrance to a building full of character, speaking of being full of character it leads me seamlessly to mention the hosts Ephraim & Yves. The guys were so helpful upon our arrival and throughout our stay, exemplary examples of how hosts should be! They went over and above their duties taking time to direct us to the good eateries and sights in Montreal.
The room itself was cosy but it had the added bonus of the balcony. The layout was good and bed was comfortable, the communal bathroom facilities were kept spotless throughout our stay.
Breakfast, all I can say is WOWWWW! we had a different choice of hot breakfasts daily ranging from egg English muffins, omelettes and even a bread/cream/blueberry sweet dish. Then there was a selection of cereals, fresh coffee, tea, juices etc. one of the best things about breakfast time was the general chat and discussions with our hosts and other guests.
I highly recommend staying at this hidden gem in Montreal, it is ideally situated for easy access to the city centre but far enough from the hustle and bustle if you want a bit of peace and quiet.
If/when we return to Montreal we wouldn't think twice about seeing if gingerbread manor had vacancies.

The Gingerbread Manor has everything you need for a visit to Montreal...great location in the Plateau, charming home, and the innkeepers are warm and funny people!
The street is beautiful and up the road from a nice little park.. The area is not only safe but is around the corner from a pedestrian-only area with restaurants and street musicians.
It reminded us a lot of Park Slope in Brooklyn, with brownstones, trees shaded from trees, and buildings with lots of character.
The rooms are all pretty, the bed in our room was so comfy, and everything was really clean. We had a balcony off of our room which was nice to sit on to have a drink and contemplate the day in Montreal...To top it all off, breakfast was always something different and yummy.

Room Tip: The Carlton was small, yet the balcony made all the difference. Plus, the bed was sooooooo comfy.

I stayed at the Gingerbread Manor with my girlfriends for my bachelorette party and we had an amazing experience throughout our stay! The owners are amazing: funny, so helpful, and they will for sure serve you an excellent home-made breakfast every morning! You don't really feel like a guest, but like an extended part of the family.
Also, the rooms are really nice: spacious, super comfortable beds, and it is very clean and tidy.
I can highly recommend this B&B, even if you are used to staying in hotels.
I am already planning my next trip to Montreal and I know where I will be staying!

The room was enormous (there were 4 of us) and the service was exemplary. The breakfasts were unbelievably delicious, and the community atmosphere with the other guests added a beautiful touch not found in a hotel. These guys really went above and beyond in order to make our stay fabulous.
