“Good!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 10, 2012

I went to Apollo with a group and the experience was good. The food was delicious and the service was fast. I don't know how much our lunch cost because someone else paid for it. I recommend if you have a large group of people because there is a large intimante room upstairs.

“A good lounge for snobbish young people”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2012

I went to Apollo restaurant on during April 2012 with another person. I had the very unfortunate experience to feel I was more paying for the trendy atmosphere than for what actually was in my plate.

I believe Apollo pretends to be what it is not: a good french restaurant. The wine menu is poor and that caught my attention. Beside of a few overpriced bottles, most of them are very low quality importations that are not worth a third of their price. It certainly does not feel like you will have the good match for what may come in your plate. In any case, you may want to avoid to take a glass of "Sauternes" which is proposed at a reasonable price... it is when you smell it that you get to understand why.

The service is average with nice young people that most certainly lack of experience. We had to wait 20 minutes to get the menu... that is a small detail but believe me the check comes faster.

The food was rather disappointing. Their so called "déclinaisons" are a combination of four outrageously modern and trendy small plates based on either Foie gras, seafood, veal and beef, Japanese food or poultry. It comes cold in your plate... The complexity of it destroys the simple pleasure of eating.

Regarding the main dish, it was certainly not warm enough and once again, complexity and modernity just reduced my appetite.

The dessert are not even worst speaking of.

Overall, what you get from Apollo is a huge check and you have this very disappointing feeling that it is not much better than a fancy lounge on Saint-Laurent boulevard where - at least - it is clear you pay for what you see more than for what you eat.

If you are looking for a nice diner time downtown, you may wan to look somewhere else.

“Great food, great service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2012

My spouse and I visited Apollo (the BYOW bistro on St-Laurent) and had the taster's menu for 59$. It was unbelievable!!! Great attention to detail, fabulously crafted hors-d'oeuvres and main, plus 2 (yes 2!) crazy delicious desserts. It was unexpected and quite affordable since we brought our own wine with us. Seriously great food fit for foodies.

“Yummy food!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2012

The decor in this location was very modern. It appears to be a church turned restaurant. The food was yummy and I loved that they had a few vegetarian options. The bread was so delicious. They make you wait a while for it, because apparently it's made on site, but it is definitely worth the wait.
