My fiancé and I were traveling into the city and i thought we should book a room near her appointment for the night and so I did on priceline(express deals) and got the Sandman in Longueuil.

We Checked in around 3:30pm and were greeted by a friendly front staff. Took us 10 minutes and we were in our room, 16th floor with an amazing view of the Olympic stadium. The room was clean and big, King sized bed + a pull out sofa. Surprised us when we found the mini fridge. We relaxed a bit and decided to go to the pool, sauna & gym (Priceline doesn’t list these amenities). The pool was heated and big, the sauna was big as well & really hot. The location of the sandman is a 5 minute drive from Tashereau, the metro station is 15 steps away from the lobby and is full of places to eat(McDonalds, A&W, Subway, Taouk de Quebec, pizza place and a couche-tard). The Metro route brings u to the heart of the city & back for 6 dollars and you don't have to worry about parking, amazing location.

We woke up early the second day and decided we’d have the American style buffet at the restaurant in the lobby. It was 11 dollars per person tax included & it is a nice spread for what you pay for. Eggs, hash browns, sausage, bacon, ham, toast, bagels, fruits, cereal, juices and yogurt, all you can eat. One of the best things about this hotel is it’s parking lot is right across laronde and that night they were having a firework show. It was spectacular and lasted over 30mins. The point of the night away was to relax and not have to rush back home & we were able to do exactly that, We’ll be back.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor.

Friendly check in at the front desk, we got room # 1627, nice view over the river and parc Olympique, and some rollercoasters, room isnt somethin special just what expected, a folded bathrope on bed upon arrival, for 2 adults, ( was meant for sharing or ? ) didnt quite get that concept.
Complimentary wifi in lobby, and in room, however the room had a terrible wifi connection overall,
So dont bother, the hotel offers comp parkering as well, very convient metro station just a walk away, some supermarkets located in the station as well.
Lots of noise from the highway when heavy trucks passes by.

The hotel had a pool on lower level, didnt use that at all, i ' ve stayed places better than this, the hotel needs a makeover for sure, doesnt seem much of maintenance in the rooms, but overall serves the purpose for only 2 nights.

This hotel is one or the worst I've been in (next to motels, maybe). Everything was outdated and in need of a check up. The toliet won't flush, their proclaimed ice machine on every other floor doesn't work either. In fact, even their elevator needs updating as we had to wait for over 45 minutes by the elevator with our luggage - the down button light keeps flickering off.

This waiting and the lacking of basic necessities would've been bearable if the hallways weren't a sauna. It seems that while the rooms had the old window ACs, they had absolutely none spared for their hallways (a place with no windows or open doors - it was hotter than it was outside)

I would not come back to this place, ever.

Dear valued guest, thank you for visiting Montreal when mother nature delivered it's hottest week of the year (+40 with humidex). Unfortunately in such hot climate our guest hallways are equipped with air exchange units which circulates outside air as we do not have an air conditioning unit for the 20 X guest floor hallways. I trust that the AC units in your guest room kept you cool. As for the guest elevators delay, we did encounter a down time of a little over an hour in early July (not knowing if this was over your guest stay) and I do regret the inconvenience. It may have also been due to high volume of traffic with tour groups. Thank you again for taking the time to post your concerns on line and I encourage you to discuss them directly with the leadership team on your next hotel/motel visits.

I recently stayed at the Sandman in June with a small group of students. The location of the hotel was ok. It is across the bridge, but you can get into the city by the metro. The metro is just a few steps from the hotel. When we took our tour bus across the bridge we sat in traffic for at least a half an hour to get into the city.

The rooms were decent, but outdated. The bedspreads are the older looking type that you would see in a hotel in the 1990s. The towels and sheets were clean. There were some dust webs in the room near the air conditioner and along the wall near the carpet. The size of the room was average.

Overall, the sandman was pretty budget friendly for a small group of students and the location of the hotel was convenient to the metro.

I don't think I would stay here again, only because I would like to be in the city rather than have to sit in traffic across the bridge to get into the city.

Dear guest, thank you for your valued comments. Tour groups typically book traditional (standard) inventory rooms with 2 double beds. We are in the process of replacing our bedspreads and should be completed by fall season. Traffic in Montreal can be a nightmare due to construction and bridge crossings. We do offer complimentary parking and the metro (subway) system is a few convenient steps away from the hotel which will get you downtown Montreal in 10 minutes for $3. Again, thank you for your feedback.

We found this hotel very easily by plugging it in to our GPS. It is a short jaunt over the bridge into Longueuil. Next door to the subway. The subway station contains shops - a grocery store, liquor store and McDonald's, to name a few. Our room was very nice and a good size. The parking lot was huge. In the morning, we loaded our luggage and in mere minutes we were on the highway enroute to Quebec City. It was well priced and a nice property with many conveniences!

Decent hotel for the money. Blankets to be changed . But is Ok , generally specking!
Very close to the subway etc . Gym is below average with kinda antique machines, not very operational even for nostalgics
But the word of the worst is the restaurant . It's had to be so BAD , but those guys DID IT.
No need to detail Just avoid it from morning to the night . If you go once there you'll find Timmy's the best 5 star restaurant ever .
So my advice better starve then going there .
Management looked quite "happy" about the place They are counting on traffic and non retiring guests

Well, I've been to this hotel a few times now. I'd previously given this hotel an average rating. It "met the need". I came back for the same reason I've been staying here for the past 4 years: its proximity to the metro Longueuil and Ile Ste Helene. There is a three day swim meet every June at the aquatic complex on the island and with 7am warmup, the ability to just walk across the street to the Metro has been hugely appealing. Not anymore.
The rooms have gotten dingy. It was a very rainy weekend and the window very clearly was leaking. The carpet was drenched within short order and all our bags which we had lined up against that wall were soaked, including clothing, school books (the kids had to do some homework in between competition sessions) and anything else we'd put there.
Coupled with slow elevators and a less than stellar response to a noisy school group, I'm not sure that I want to stay at this hotel again next year.

Thank you for sharing your guest experience. It is unfortunate and we regret to hear of the inconveniences you and your family have encountered during your recent return visit. Please connect with the management office when you return to Montreal or at next year's swim meet event as it would be my pleasure to personally assist you with your travel requirements.
