Rotisserie Panama recently opened its 3rd location in the Greater Montreal Area. This one is in Laval - Montreal's largest suburb and the province's 3rd largest urban community.
Unlike the first Panama on Jean Talon street, this Panama's decor is very modern. When you walk in, if you're not familiar with the type of food that the establishment is known for, it would be hard to guess. The only tip-off that it's Greek would be from the pictures on the wall.
The menu is full of Greek delicacies. Octapus that melts in your mouth. Fried calamari (squid) that is crusty on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside. The deep fried zucchini and eggplant are the most addictive chips that you will ever savor. As for the "mains" you cannot possible go wrong with the lamb chops and/or the grilled chicken.
Whether you come with your date or with a troop of friends and family, tell your waiter what it is you like and let them suggest the order. The absolutely best (and most cost efficient) way to eat at Panama is to order platters of food and share - just as if you were sitting at your dining room table at home. Ordering individual main dishes takes all the fun and adventure out of the meal.
Panama has a good selection of wines. However, since you're eating Greek food, I strongly suggest Greek wine to go with it. Try either the Rapsani Reserve or the Domaine Gerovassiliou or Amethystos. All three are excellent Greek reds.
As for the wait staff they're great. Professional, friendly, polite and knowledgeable. Trust them for your orders - they know what they're talking about.
