“Overated, noisy, hazardous parking for motorcycles”
Reviewed August 28, 2011

Very nice B/B, rooms very well kept, owner very amiable and friendly. However, the paking is on a hill and unpaved making it very difficult to park motorcycles. We almost dropped one bike the next morning trying to get out. The location is right down town on Racine street, the main drag of the city and consequently sleeping with the windows open will allow you to enjoy the street action and car noise all night. The rooms have small air conditionning units but they are extremely noisy. Breakfast in the morning was very good

Room Tip: All the rooms are very nice but will be noisy because of the location

Merci
Joseph

We spent 3 nights here, and from the moment we arrived we realised it was a good choice. The hotel is small and offers personal service - the owners seem to take a great pride in their work, and were very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Well located at the quiet end of the main street with lots of restaurants within walking distance. Free parking at the side of the hotel. The owners offered a tour of the fiord which seemed very popular, but we did are own day trips - an hour's drive to great horse riding at Anse St Jean and a day to Lac St Jean and the abandonned village at Val Jalbert. The breakfasts were excellent with locally sourced, fresh produce. The lounge was beautifully furnished and comfortable - a nice place to sit and have a drink. The room was well furnished and original, with plenty of space, table and chairs, tv, fridge, enough hanging space for clothes and a small balcony with a table and chairs. The bath and shower (located on a raised area in the room) was a novelty. Aircon unit was quite noisy. The toilet was a small sauna-like cabin built into a corner of the room - OK for us - but there wasn't much room for manoeuvre (I'm 6ft and average build) . Overall we really liked this place - comfortable, friendly, well furnished and certainly good value for money.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Auberge Racine! Great service, delicious and varied breakfast and quiet rooms. During my 12 day visit for work I was walking distance from the restaurants and bistros on Rue Racine, which was very convenient. On the weekend I explored the mountains and the fjord, which were in beautiful autumn colours. Great place for a quiet holiday!
I highly recommend Auberge Racine to anyone who appreciates real personalised service. Joseph and Marie do a terrific job! Mes excuses pour ecrir cet avis en anglais, pour moi c'est trop difficile en francais.
