“Stay was okay - basic hotel!”
Reviewed August 11, 2012

We stayed for two nights in late July. I had booked somewhat last minute (less than a week in advance). Our room was on the second floor, and was clean enough. Beds were fine. Bathroom fine. No elevator though. Kids used the indoor pool, which they enjoyed, although it was hotter than heck in the pool area. Thank goodness they had a door that was open to the outside so I could sit in somewhat comfort. Didn't try the breakfast restaurant. It would have been nice if there was a continental breakfast included. We were in the main building, and didn't have any issue with parking. Would stay again, but a bit pricey for what you're getting. Free wifi worked fine and was a nice perk.

Room Tip: Ask for a first floor room since there is no elevator.

Great hotel. Have stayed numerous times. Always in main building. Great conversation areas for groups staying together. Awesome staff who are very helpful and friendly. Rooms are well equipped with very comfortable beds. Restaurant staff are efficient and friendly. Pool is clean. Will stay here again.

It was a good hotel, very clean and tidy. I found the bathroom really small.. and the beds were comfortable. But, for the 200 a night, (with taxes) i expected a bit more for the price, it comes with two pools and you can use the 9 hole golf course which was sort of fun i suppose..

My room was clean and comfortable. Sheets were nice and crisp, and as a hospitality person I inspect rooms like a housekeeping supervisor before I do much. Worst I found is the top of the bathroom mirror was smeary...assume a short chambermaid cleaned the room last haha. the desk lamp didn't work but I didn't bother to tell them before checkout, it was not an issue for me; I just hauled the floor lamp over. (and it was plugged in, and was not just a burned out bulb, i switched it first with the working floor lamp and still no power. )Tub could use grab bars and the desk chair was lumpy hard, so I just put a pillow over it. Didn't like the coffee maker, it was fine for one person traveling alone but if you like the kind with a pot to make more than one cup at a time, they don't have those. ADVISORY!! If you are in any way handicapped, make sure to tell them before arrival because there are second floor rooms with no elevator,,, thankfully I landed a ground floor drive up room, as I am temporarily handicapped with one bad ankle and pulled tendon in the other foot; I could NOT have made it up the stairs with luggage. ALSO NOTE: The property is divided into two buildings, the main one where the lobby, pool, restaurant and fitness room are, and a second one out in the parking lot, meaning you have to walk outside to get to either pool, and back again dripping wet, so building 2 is probably not a good choice for families with little kids to try and control them crossing the VERY busy tight parking lot excited to go swimming. I was a little skeptical on arrival seeing a sign welcoming a high school reunion class of 1992, and people already camped out front of their rooms beside and above mine drinking in lawn chairs, but the rooms were very soundproof and if they partied, I didn't hear it. The outdoor pool was nice too, big and deep. Very welcome after a hot day touring around the island to random sights and communities, I ate breakfast one day in their little coffee shop, the food is fine but the quantity is a bit lean, although the price is right and convenience is a factor.

Room Tip: If you are not ok with stairs, make sure to tell them first, or you might get second floor in buildi...

We stayed here last minute with no other options. The room was fine-clean enough, but worn and stained. That doesn't generally bother us, but considering it cost us $200 for one night here, I'm feeling a bit bitter. For that much I don't expect stained comforters, box spring covers and chairs with cigarette burns in a non smoking room. And they have the nerve to charge for breakfast.

Service was very helpful and friendly. The room was decorated really nicely. Linens were new and beds very comfortable. Lots of pillows, loved that! Wifi was awesome in my room and lots of stations on the nice flat screen tv. The room was spacious and the bathrooms were awesome with nice big tubs! The indoor pool was fantastic and well maintained. Didn't swim outside however from what I could tell that pool looked well maintained too! There is a gym if you are so inclined and a nice complimentary round of 9 holes. The restaraunt was so so. Breakfast off the menu was nothing special so I decided to eat else where. Hair dryers could use an upgrade. Over all this is a really nice place to stay and worth $141.00.

Room Tip: I was in 106 main level- loved this room

The hotel was a bit disappointing - the location is on a busy street near a gas station - really nothing to look at. I booked it because we were going to see a show across the street at the College of Piping (which I would highly recommend). The hotel has no elevators and the hallways are very hot. Rooms very clean but the AC units are in the windows (never saw this at a chain hotel before) and were of low quality - never even heard of the name before - plus the curtains covered them which you did need to close for privacy - so the room never got that cool - thank goodness it wasn't hot hot that day. The exercise room had 2 pieces of equipment but it was so hot in there you couldn't use them - the indoor pool was small and very basic - I never saw anyone in it. The outdoor pool was old and the lounge chairs were made of wood - and old - very odd set up. There was 9 hole golf course in the back which I think they said it was $6 to rent the equipment and if you walked way in the back there was the water view. I would not stay there again - the Loyalist's location was much prettier for the same price. Also there is not much to do in Summerside - I thought the boardwalk area was going to be fun but its so small it was disappointing. The front desk told us about a local beach which was very nice but then sent us to Victoria she said there were shops so we went but it was again very small - smaller than the boardwalk - it was nice - but not much to do. I stayed at 3 hotels on this roadtrip and this was the most disappointing.

Room Tip: If you stay here stay in the main building and remember no elevator.
