“Excellent meal and entertainment”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2012

We enjoyed a great meal and a night of entertainment at Hunters. The menu offers a huge variety of options to choose from with lots of styles and types of food. This is a pub at heart and there are lots of burgers, fish n chips, huge selection of 'Philly' sandwiches, etc. We were there on rib night, so I ordered the baby back ribs and they were worked perfectly. Very enjoyable. The Fish n Chips was also well done. The portions were gigantic though, and we didn't really need that much food. I can see it is appealing though. There was also an all you can eat salad and soup bar with rolls and everything you needed for salad.
Later the same night there was a concert at the venue. They cleared some tables away and had a small stage set up near the door. The show (Zach Deputy) was excellent and the venue was well set up for a show with an open floor for dancers, and lots of other tables for people to sit and grab some drinks. A perfect litle spot for a small show.
I look forward to my next visit to Hunters for either a meal or some more entertainment.

“It is great for what it is.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2012

Hunters Ale House does pub food and service very well. We went on a music trivia night and enjoyed the loud environment and cheer.

My partner ordered a seafood bake which was filling and rich. I ordered the well reviewed chowder and it had plenty of seafood. Large chunks of fish and lobster.

They are known locally for their chicken curry nachos. We did return a few nights later for a pint and nachos. We got a greek salad so it wasn't just a calorie blood bath. And wow. Curry and nachos and beer are very good combination.

Huge portions of food and beer. And generally amazing friendly service.

“Great dinner and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2012

We hadn't planned on having dinner here. The mussels were great. We ordered 2 stirfries and our order was mixed up not once but twice. The order was rectified and apologies accepted.
The food was good, so was the wine. We continued to receive apologies from several people.
Even though we are from out of town and won't be back until 2014, we were also given a gift certificate for our next visit.
Mistakes happen, and it's so nice to know that people really care about their customers.
I would recommend this pub to anyone.

“Most fun we had in PEI”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 18, 2012

Unfortunately we had poor experiences at two other downtown Charlottetown eateries, so we decided to go with our hotel's recommendation and try this pub out....GLAD WE DID!

Food was huge! We ordered Mussels and Steak and Lobster two beers (their pint is HUGE as well). Total price after tax: $48.87 - most places you can't even get a lobster for this price.

There was a game of trivia or quiz night and the entire place participated, we lost but decided to stick around for the band that didnt start until 1115pm. The band was amazing - this place showcases independent acts from across the region and the walls are filled with pictures of bands who have played over the years.

Service was bangt on - from bar staff right to the doormen. We returned to the hotel and told them they should be sending everyone to Hunter's Ale House before recommending anywhere else!

“A Must stop in while in Charlottetown”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2012

Always stop here when in the city! Easily the busiest restaurant in town its hard to get a seat at peak times. Portions huge, staff friendly! It's a pub and steak kind of place!
