“Lives up to Hype”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

I read about this place on here before coming to Charlottetown this week. It was one of those places I had to go to...and I'm glad I did.

It looks like a classic pub house from the outside; bricks, warm, inviting. Once you walk in, it's the same thing. The staff is fantastic; young, energetic, and professional. The food was great; I had the fish cakes with a garden salad, plus a pint of the Golden Pale Ale. Fish cakes had a great spice to them and, for $9, well worth it. The pint was great, too.

In the basement, they have their brewery. It's a bit "dungeon"y down there, but nothing serious.

If you're in the area, you need to head here.

“Amazing fish and chips!”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

We at here for lunch after arriving in Charlottetown and we were glad we did. The fish and chips, were out of this world. Served in a paper bag, the fish was perfectly done, well-portioned, and so creamy and tasty. The batter was so flavorful...not simply a greasy crust as you can sometimes get. Two of us also had the shepherd's pie, which was excellent as well. My meal was accompanied by a Greek Salad -- the only bad thing about it was that I wished there had been more. The atmosphere is charming and the service was excellent.

“pleasant afternoon respite”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

Great food and service; beers on tap are wonderful. Chowder was superb, and the taste of "Iron City" lingers. The shrimp salad sandwich was great.

“Mostly hype for food, great beer”
Reviewed July 31, 2013 via mobile

Beer was great. Period. Food stunk. Dried, chewy prime rib sandwich. Fries greasy and way over-cooked. Salmon good. Just not worth it, especially for the long wait to be seated and the price. Service good once seated. They at least took off the cost of our meals, so good customer service.

“A simple meal”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

My wife & I shared off of the 'Half Pint' menu with an order of potatoe fish cakes, mussels, and a potatoe cheese dish. Since PEI is known as the 'Potatoe Capital of Canada' and mussel farms can be seen every where, it gave us an opportunity to sample the local fare. The food was delicious and hit the spot. This is a brewery pub, so my wife ordered the honey wheat ale and I the stout. We had a window seat and enjoyed the view with our meal.
