So let me start with my tour guide was fantastic! As with many of these historic sites a lot of your experience comes down to the tour guide. These people have history backgrounds and they’re interested in being there. They are very attentive and they know everything on the script that needs to be pointed out and. They also can answer just about any crazy question you have. The home is very detailed and it’s a good restoration. The history of the home is really interesting given it’s background as a nursing dorm. It has been taken back to the era of the original family ( sad story).
Outside in the garage they have classes and or demonstrations so if you get a chance you should check the schedule and attend one of those. Have a walk through the gardens, they’re amazing and the view from is fantastic. You can walk back into town in a leisurely manner and it’s quite lovely. It’s a great beautiful historic section of town.More
