My wife wanted to meet Will and Kate (Duke and Duchess of Cambridge) so badly that we decided last minute to do a road trip to PEI from Boston. I happened to stumble upon Cranford Inn on TA and luckily they had some rooms available for that weekend. Right from the beginning, Vickie (the owner) was so pleasant to deal with. She was very patient and willing to help with all my questions over the phone. When we got there, Vickie was very warm and welcoming to us. Martha, the other host, showed us almost all the rooms they have. Trust me (my wife and I are both picky), you cannot go wrong with any of the rooms at Cranford. I told the hosts that the pictures on their website don't do the rooms any justice. The rooms are spacious, clean and have a lot of character. Plus, (this is very rare) each room had access to a balcony/porch. We were always out so we weren't able to take advantage of ours. The inn was in a great location with a beautiful garden in the back. We stayed at two different rooms in our two-night stay there and one of the rooms (Sandstone) had a great view of the garden (this room also has a very nice tub and fireplace). We were also very pleasantly surprised with the breakfast. It was a full course breakfast and was very delicious. They served something different in the two days we were there.
We have stayed at a lot of B&B's but this place may be our favorite so far. This inn demonstrates a lot of attention to detail but what makes this place even more special is the service and friendliness of the hosts. They were always willing to help and provide suggestions - from points of interests and activities to restaurants, etc. Special thanks to Katie as well who was around when Vickie and Martha were gone. Since my wife was going to leave really early to see Will and Kate (before breakfast is served), Katie decided to pack a breakfast bag for her with cookies, granola bar, apple, juice and to-go cup for her hot tea. Not only that, half an hour after we had asked her if she knew of any store that was still open (since it was past 8 pm already) to buy a lawn chair for my wife to use while waiting for W&K (of course, there were no stores still open), Katie showed up with a foldable lawn chair to lend to my wife. We were so surprised by her/their nice gestures since they went above and beyond to please us. When we came back after seeing W&K, Vickie and Martha were very interested in hearing about our experience. The unfortunate part of our stay is that we were only there for a short time. However, this is a great reason for us to come back to amazing PEI and stay again at Cranford Inn!
