A fanciful multi-media presentation of the complex history of the federation--good for kids of all ages! Nice setting, right on the waterfront, and quite near the boardwalk and central district.

I had no idea how lovely little PEI had such an important role in Canadian confederation and this excellent exhibit laid it all out for me in a wonderful story.

Make sure you get the audio accompaniment and don't be discouraged with the functionality. Be sure you are always standing on the sticker in each room to get the information through your headphones. Don't give up because you will learn a great deal!

I wish all history museums could do such a good job

The building is divided into a visitors information center and the time tunnel experience. The time tunnel is set up like a news reporter who travels back though time to cover the original meeting in Charlottetown that started the path to Confederation. The head phone technology worked pretty well except at one point where I think the nodes were a little too close together.

The content was a good primer for the basics of Confederation. My daughter enjoyed going though a lot. But it might also be a good stop for newer Canadians or visitors from outside Canada who want a gimps at this piece of Canadian History.

Our family enjoyed this telling of confederation, it was informative but told in an interesting and entertaining way. I liked how we had headsets to use as a self guided tour. It took about 45 min, and I am glad we took the time to go through this.

The folks at the information desk are great. They will spend as much time as you want answering questions (or even more). There are lots of informational booklets and pamphlets available. The history tour using headsets does a good job of explaining the origin of the Canadian territories. It's done in a fun fashion sometimes with too much detail and sometimes with not enough. But it is a very good basic introduction to the Canadian union formation.
