We stopped in after a lousy pub experience at a place a few blocks away. All we wanted was a couple of cold beers and a place to relax. The Churchill Arms is the place for that. Great waitstaff, efficient and helpful. Quick, no nonsense service and a place with a fun crowd and tons of atmosphere. Doesn't get much better than that. Kitchen was doing a brisk business though we didn't try anything since we had dinner plans elsewhere.
We did sample the Alexander Keith's since it was one of the "local" brews suggested and we hadn't tried it before. Apparently there are some distribution "politics" in terms of who gets to serve the true local brew... Gahan. The Keith's was ok but I wouldn't say we were big fans choosing instead to switch to Guiness for round two, not that serving Keith's reflects badly on Churchill Arms... we had after all wanted to try something different : )
