“Very nice, make sure your socks or feet are clean...”
Reviewed July 13, 2012

You take off your shoes before entering. The floor is light wood and clean. The tables are not crowded together, and located in two rooms and a table on the street-side patio. The menu is nice, but not very extensive or explanatory. Prices are very moderate. Service was quick at times, spotty at others. Once our meals were served, no one came back to inquire or refill our water glasses. I was surprised to see eggs in a vegetarian restaurant. I had the noodle (with egg) dish which was quite delicious, as were the starters. Recommended!

“Unwind with Lunch at Tai Chi Gardens”
Reviewed June 5, 2012

A little island of peace and relaxation in the capital of Prince Edward Island, Canada. Tai Chi Gardens offers a delightful vegetarian menu that pleases the palate and relaxes the mind and body.
My wife and I have had another lunch there today: a Golden Harvest soup to warm us up - yes, it is June, but a high of just 12 degrees C today - followed by a wholsome dish of Golden Lotus Rice (for me) and Curry Rice Veggie (for her), drowned with heaps of High Mountain Tea; and a mouthwatering Plum Tart for a perfect finale. Kenny, Wenny and Michael - immigrants to Canada from Taiwan - have done very well in creating this unique ambience, and at a staggeringly affordable price: our meal today cost a total of Can$29, after tax! You don't just take your footwear off when you get to Tai Chi, but you also leave your worries behind, even if only temporarily.

“Wonderful meal in a peaceful Oriental setting”
Reviewed August 2, 2011

Tai Chi Gardens serves only vegetarian Chinese food, in the Dim Sum tradition. This was probably the 9th or 10th time we've eaten there over the last four or five years and was another meal to remember. Nothing is deep-fried, although some dishes are sauteed, some are baked and some are steamed.
We had Mushroom Delight (truly delightful), Full- and Half-moon Dumplings, Silken Salad, baked Spring Rolls and the lovely Sun Cakes. The only complaint is that we couldn't eat more items on the menu. The drinks are terrific. Between us we had Coconut tea, Watermelon tea and Mango tea.
The ambience is delightful, quiet and peaceful with soft Oriental music in the background. The owners, Kenny and Winnie, helped by their son Michael, are quiet but attentive.
I'm hard put to describe the experience but it's close to a Japanese Tea experience in the overall feeling.
Highly recommended to vegetarians and meat-eaters alike!
