“Well worth a stay”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

This property deserves the great reviews it has been getting. It's clean, charmingly decorated, well located, with ample parking provided and efficiently managed. The breakfast was excellent with a choice of eggs Benedict or pancakes served by pleasant Japanese girls (we think). At breakfast we were seated at a table for eight with other couples from BC (via Alberta), Ottawa, and two Acadian ladies from Nova Scotia. This made for great morning conversation. The only negative we can think of is that there is no elevator which could make the rooms on the upper floors problematic for people with mobility difficulties.

Room Tip: If you have problems climbing stairs try to get a room on a lower floor.

We felt lucky that the Great George Hotel was booked for the weekend because we found the Heritage Harbour House Inn. As other reviewers have mentioned the location is perfect for walking to the main part of town. The inn is very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was the best we had in Nova Scotia, and we stayed at a lot of inns! Homemade muffins and cinnamon rolls, pancakes with homemade blueberry sauce and Eggs Benedict on Sunday.

The best part is the owner, Mike - friendly and outgoing he is also your own personal visitor information person. He recommended a wonderful outing for us on a rainy afternoon to Indian River for their Soup and Music Festival. If you are planning a trip to NS, I definitely recommend going during the PEI Festival in September. There is something going on every day!

We were touring PEI and spent two nights here. The Inn is in a very convenient location, the town centre is only a few minutes stroll away. There is plenty of safe parking and with the room card you can come and go as you please.

The room wasn't huge for three, but we didn't spend much time there. It was spotlessly clean and had nice touches like a hairdryer and make up remover pads in the bathroom - I've had to go down to borrow a hairdryer at hotel receptions before.

Breakfast time was busy, a number of people milling around getting coffee, cereals etc, the lady on duty was very polite even though she was dealing with lots of requests at once.

I liked the idea of tea and coffee making facilities, and the guest laundry, but we didn't have long enough there to use them.

We would recommend the Heritage Harbour House Inn, the owners are doing a great job, thank you.

We very much enjoyed our 3 night stay here. The B&B is large almost like a boutique hotel/inn and exceptionally well organised. The location is on a quiet street within walking distance of the shops, restaurants and waterfront. Ample offstreet parking at the back of the building. There are lots of common areas to choose from. A lovely sunny room where coffee and tea is always available. A spacious outdoor patio on the 2nd floor to enjoy if you do not have a room with it's own balcony.

We stayed in 2 different rooms. 2 nights in the junior suite and 1 night in room #6 which is a queen deluxe with balcony. We both loved the queen room with balcony. It was large, airy and the balcony, facing the back of the house, was a very pleasant place to sit and relax. The junior suite, with kitchenette, would be good for a long term stay or if you particularly wanted to prepare your own food. Both rooms had refrigerators, large TVs and of course WIFI. The linens and towels supplied are very good high quality.

Flexible breakfast times in the morning are a bonus and the staff are delightful. There was a choice of a sweet or savoury breakfast each morning. The baked goods were particularly good and there were the usual selection of cereals etc.

We asked for suggestions for restaurants and followed the excellent recommendations. Don't miss the Prince-Water Corner Shop (yes it's a restaurant) for a terrific casual atmosphere with wonderful seafood. It was so good we ate there 2 nights.

We operated a B&B ourselves for many years and this one comes highly recommended.

Room Tip: loved #6 on 2nd floor with balcony

Had an overall nice stay at this B&B for 2 nights.

Our request (for a room on the main floor) with our reservation was met. This was greatly appreciated!

The B&B is located on a very nice quiet street, and is steps away from everything ---keeping in mind that Charlottetown is a very small & quaint city to begin with.

The room was very nice, clean, and spacious! Beds are very comfortable!

There was also ample of free parking on premises.

Our only issue was the fact that breakfast was not very good. And breakfast is a big part of the overall B&B experience! However, the servers at breakfast were very nice, friendly, and courteous!

We revisited the Heritage Harbour House this year after a wonderful stay last year. We were pleased to receive the same warm welcome and to find clean comfortable accommodations once again. The Inn is nicely located on a quiet leafy street but is only a few minutes brisk walk from all the attractions of Charlottetown. We were able to reserve a bigger room this year and we were happy with the Blue Room on the second floor. (As compared to the Yellow room next door which is quite a bot smaller). Once again breakfast in the morning was efficiently served and quite delicious with a choice of two dishes being offered. We wanted to extend our stay but alas there were no vacancies. Obviously, reservations are a must during the Summer months.

A friend and I have just returned from a visit to Atlantic Canada. When we were in Charlottetown we made a last minute booking at Heritage Harbour House Inn. We couldn't have made a more excellent choice. The room - and beds - were so comfy. Clean, spacious, courteous service, etc. A scrumptuous breakfast was served by attentive personnel. It's located walking distance from centretown where it's all happening. Close to restaurants, etc. I want to praise the owner who went the extra mile in order to locate a dressing gown I had left behind. He went out of his way to look for it and when he found it he rang me to let me know where I could collect it. Thank you Michael.
