Trevor and Judy Pye own and run an exceptional B&B. Charming, elegant, immaculately maintained, comfortable and above all, a feeling of an home away from home. My wife and I were accompanied by our almost 3-year old, and we were made to feel welcome. The staff were patient with our boy, and the interest Judy and Trevor showed, ensured we will always stay at the Shipwright Inn whenever we are in Charlottetown..

Upon our arrival we were graciously greeted by Trevor who immediately showed us to our room which had been upgraded and so lovely. He then made excellent recommendations for dinner one of which was where the locals go, so of course we chose to eat there. The following morning after a delicious gourmet breakfast Judy recommended a scenic drive to experience some of what PEI has to offer being that we were only there for two nights. Their home was beautiful, tastefully decorated, service as good as any five star hotel, delicious breakfasts and exceptional hosts. I would highly recommend the Shipwright Inn hoping to return for a longer stay. Thank you Judy and Trevor for making our stay so enjoyable. Alan and Lee

Room Tip: Our room was the Quarterdeck which was spacious, nicely decorated, lovely sitting area and verandah...

My wife and I enjoyed our first night in Charlottetown staying at the Shipwright. It is a beautifully maintained heritage house. Our hosts were very welcoming and did everything they could to make us comfortable. The breakfast was not everything it could have been as the corn fritter was a bit soggy and the sausage overdone. However, we only had one breakfast and thus cannot compare other mornings offerings. This would in no way change our recommendation to stay at this very interesting and welcoming inn.

We want to thank the entire staff for a wonderful 5 days at the Shipwright Inn. We felt right at home as soon as we walked in. We drove around the entire island but was always glad to go back "HOME". We slept great every night which is unusual when traveling especially out of the country. We stayed in the Purser's room which was great for the 2 of us and well worth every penny. In Oct. we had celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary so this was our little get a way and we have wonderful memories of that. Loved the location too, we would walk to dinner or walk into town to have a drink at one of the great pubs at night. We also brought our bikes and Judy and Trevor let us use their locked shed for the bikes. We enjoyed our breakfast all 5 mornings, something different each day. Great central location to get our and explore the island. This was not our first B & B but definitely our favorite. Thanks for making our first trip to PEI so great!

Thank you so much Judy and Trevor for making our stay so outstanding. Your B and B was really more like an inn than a family home....elegant and charming. We did not feel like we were intruding in your home, as large areas were at the disposal of your guests, but at the same time you made us feel totally welcome and comfortable. The breakfasts were amazing, worthy of a fine hotel. I am not a breakfast eater, but I indulged!!
We arrived late the first night and our assigned room was right beside the kitchen vent, so we awoke to cooking smells very early in the morning and as the air conditioner was very loud, we needed to keep the window open. When I spoke to Judy about the problem, she quickly remedied the situation by upgrading our room at no cost, and having our luggage moved for us.
We will definitely be back to PEI and will look forward to staying with you again! Thanks for everything.... Garnet and Reid

Room Tip: Book a king size bed on the front side of the house during the summer, as it is cooler there.

If and when we ever get back to Charlottetown we will be staying at the Shipwright Inn again.

We will also insist to family, friends and co-workers that they must stay at the Shipwright because yes the rooms, breakfast and service was just that good.

5 Star service, lodgings and hospitality.

ps - Say hi to Jenny for me when you stay there (she's a gem!)

This was at the top end of our budget, but it was definitely worth it. We stayed in the Chart Room which meant no climbing stairs. It had two comfortable chairs in the room (one of the few places that had this). They have pastries and a Keurig machine on the sideboard in the afternoon and early evening. The hosts were very friendly and helpful with planning our days and with our reservations for dinner. The location was very convenient. There is off street parking and you can walk most places in town from here. Breakfasts were adventuresome and a bit strange but mostly successful.
