We managed to get a last minute reservation late in the evening and were very glad we did. Despite the late time we had no feeling of pressure; the service was friendly yet professional. The menu changes daily and amongst other things our group enjoyed scallops in a carrot cream with curried nuts, the steamed mussels with ginger, and a combination main dish of caramelized belly pork and scallops - all displayed a real depth of flavor with a respect for the ingredients. A line caught halibut with roast potatoes was less successful, tiny new potatoes not roasting very well and the accompanying julienned vegetables feeling raw and tasteless without a jus to hold them together despite a perfectly cooked piece of fish. Short but interesting wine list at relatively high prices.
The room is a curious brown creation straight from the 1980's with overhead lighting, probably not the place to plan a proposal of marriage but just fine for a good meal out.
