A great spot for a quick (not fancy) seafood meal. Quite small and crowded but "homey" with walls covered with memorabilia, photos and licence plates from around the world presumably from past satisfied customers. The seafood chowder may be the best I've ever had. Diners around us seemed very pleased with scallops, mussels and lobster. The servers were charming and genuinely interested in making sure that we were enjoying our meal. We almost didn't get a table without a reservation. In high season I would recommend calling ahead.

“Great Lobster Rolls”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

Looking nothing more than a corner store this restaurant is very close to the cruise terminal. If you want lobster or any other sea food this is the place to come. A small gem of a place owned by Shane Campbell who oversees that everything runs like clockwork. A very popular venue for locals or visitors alike.

“Seafood Nirvana”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

Coming from the plains of Canada, it's easy to admit that anything above mediocre seafood is hard to come by.

Having visited Water Prince for the first time back in 2009, I was pleasantly surprised to see this place packed, with a 1½ hour wait on a Wednesday night. (I think John Catucci's "You gotta eat here..." visit from 2010 and a newer menu might have contributed to that). Then again, simply great seafood is all it takes for the masses to come.

Had ½ dozen malpeque oysters (16.95 - due to season), followed by bowl of seafood chowder (9.95) and pound of steamed clams (10.95). The oysters were to die for. So fresh. The seafood chowder was rich and loaded of great seafood and PEI potatoes. The clams were a little salty/sandy, but that indicates that they came from ocean floor, unlike PEI farmed mussels which are grown in a sock, suspended by a buoy, off the floor.

My father had the seafood platter (29.95) which was also very good. This comes with mussels and ½ lobster. Amazing!

If you're in the area, and you want true seafood, you have to try this place!

“Delicious PEI seafood lunch”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

Stumbled upon this great little restaurant in Charlottetown for lunch and was not disappointed. Busy because a cruise ship had just docked so their was a huge line-up, but we lucked out and the wait was not too long after we found a place to park. We had the halibut fish and chips and it was really delicious...the french fries were excellent (must be those PEI potatoes), deep fried clams were ok, chowder was good and the coconut cream pie was delicious. Overall, service was a bit slow and the place was a bit noisy and crowded because of all the tour bus and cruise ship passengers, but food was really good.

“Another Check for the 'Bucket List'”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

My husband has always hoped that one day he would be able to enjoy mussels on Prince Edward Island. Luckily our cruise ship docked within walking distance of the Water Prince Corner Shop in Charlottetown – a wonderful place where he was served a huge bowl (1 pound) of mussels that had just been caught that morning. He says they were the best he’s ever had. It’s a small place & you may have to wait for a table but it will be worth it. I ordered their famous seafood chowder with a homemade biscuit. The chowder was chock full of large chunks of shrimp & rosy lobster – which had not been minced beyond recognition. This chowder was mentioned in the book You Gotta Eat Here with a nice write- up on page 66. I agree..you gotta eat here!
