This is a must see for all Canadians, not only is it the birthplace of Canada it is also the location of the PEI Provincial Legislator since 1847.

It is run by Parks Canada and entry is by donation. The guided tour was informative and is supplemented by displays.

Great place to visit. Makes one think of what the forefathers of Canada and our own country accomplished by sitting together in a room to work out a plan for the future of the country. Very well presented. Excellent restoration of the chambers. A real tour guide with historical narrative would make this stop much better. At the moment it's just touring the building on your own - leaving much to the imagination and a printed brochure. Nevertheless, well worth the visit.

So nice to be able to go into government buildings that are still being used and that have been used for a very long time and that are an essential part of our Canadian history. Guides were on hand to give pertinent information of what happens in the various rooms. Of course, Confederation was signed in this building. Outside people are dressed in period costume to add to the ambiance of the city and get people more interested in history and to engage in conversation.

We enjoyed walking around the grounds and buildings with the students dressed as it would have been. Such amazing and important history

Neat to see where our community representative Wm Henry Steeves went to discuss the plan for Canada's confederation in 1864, Nice chat with the guide, security, and the grounds folks.
