Owner description: The birthplace of Confederation and the seat of PEI's provincial legislature since 1847, Province House National Historic Site is Charlottetown's most significant cultural landmark. Walk in the footsteps of the Fathers of Confederation as you learn about the history of this magnificent example of neo-classical architecture and see how it remains a centre of political life for Islanders today.

Excellent piece of Canadian history. And Free! Certainly learned much that I didn`t know.
Thought the video presentation was professionally done but a bit lacking, repetitive.

The bulding was well presented. Theatre space provided explanatory film and interesting theatrical debate.

Sound and Light show not being produced this year which was a disapointment.

There is a free film that is very interesting on the creation of Canada as a country. Our big surprise was lack of knowledge of role of women in early history. Staff seemed stymied by our questions saying "women were not allowed in the meetings!" Tell that to Abigail Adams and her friends. One of the teen agers at the Confederation center said she believed some new diaries may have been found. Hope that the feminine role gets new attention.

Great place to learn about the history of Canada...highly recommend this historic site. The staff are most helpful and do tours. Donations are welcome and there is a gift shop. Nice t-shirts at reasonable prices. Well done!
