Correctly called "Old Dublin Pub" I believe. 2 or 3 separate floors. Fine dining on one floor. Fun, casual, authentic type fun on upper level with traditional folk entertainment. Very good musicians the night we were there. Good food. Would recommend. Not too touristy.

“good night out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2013

Date night for husband and I. Immediately seated and drinks offered for our 6:30 reservation. Good, seafood laden selection of appetizers. We had the crab/lobster cakes, and the oyster rockefeller to start. Good portion size. Appetizers were served quickly. For mains, it was scallops & pork belly with season vegetables, while the other half had Galway Bay (prawns & scallops) dish. Good portions. Finished with tea. Dessert looked good, but we were comfortably full at that point. Wine selection includes PEI options.

Attentive service. Small room (~40). Things got busy around 7:30, with lots of walk-ins (it was the end of the tourist season in PEI). The room did get a bit loud once it was full.

Good food. Great presentation. If it were in town for us, it would be a twice a year staple.

“Best sticky date pudding”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2013

Went here for dinner during our one-week stay on the island, and were very glad we did. The food was fresh and flavoursome. One of us had the sticky date pudding for dessert and it is now her favourite dessert EVER. Other food -- rib eye steak: perfectly done to medium-rare and a good depth of flavour; lobster risotto -- excellent texture with generous bits of lobster; lobster cakes were crispy and beautifully presented; haddock was cooked perfectly (not overdone) and was tender and flaky with a good, but not too strong, butter flavour.

The room is quite pretty. We sat at the top beside the fountain, which was a bit too cool, but otherwise a good table.

One thing about the service merits noting. Our server was very inexperienced. She pulled out a sheet of paper to look at her notes on dishes (such as which mains came with sides), and did a few other things that showed she was new to it. Her attitude, however, was great, as was her manner, and for that it wasn't such a big deal that she was inexperienced -- and quality service is a big deal for me. I suppose being on vacation could have had something to do with it.

We would eat there again.

“Delicious food, fun atmosphere and good entertainment!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2013

The east coast experience for us is not just about sightseeing, for us its about how much fresh seafood we can consume before we bust.

On our evening stroll, we noticed the poster at Claddagh House advertising $1 oysters, we knew we would have to land there the next afternoon for a few aperitifs.

Two dozen oysters later, we decided we might be able to squeeze in a couple of steamed mussels. The bucket of mussels was excellent!

If you enjoy fresh seafood as much as we do, you cant go wrong getting a table here. The staff are friendly and outgoing and the music is great.

“Enjoyed!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

We were lucky to get a reservation last minute and sat at the bar. Was worried as I have a bad back but the chairs are not bar stools but comfortable chairs with long backs. The food was very good we had lobster risotto and lobster speggetti and shared a date cake with ice cream it was all good. Sitting at the bar was great got to watch staff work and shuck oysters. The staff were very hard working and busy and still remained happy and looked after all your needs in a timely manner. Great place to eat and prices were very good.
