I had a Groupon for La Guardia and decided I would try this place out. It's a great spot downtown, a hidden gem. The service was excellent, by all the staff. It was a nice romantic spot. Quiet. Great spot for a date night or a night out with the girls.
I did not particularly enjoy my meal, the eggplant parmesan, however I would totally try something else on the menu and go back again.

Great food great service great prices. This restaurant is in a wonderful location in the heart of downtown Windsor just two blocks from the casino Windsor. They start seating for dinner at around 4:30pm. Nice portions and a very accommodating wait staff. Lots of old world charm...

We found this restaurant via a tripadvisor search and fully appreciate the reviews which proved to be true to form. This small restaurant has excellent service, personal attention, and fabulous food, with a very decent wine list. The seafood pasta had the most tender calamari we have ever had, and the attention to detail in the meal was excellent. The menu is extensive, catering to carnivores and seafood lovers alike. There is an interesting blend of family atmosphere and formal here, so you would be comfortable in a suit or casually dressed. We would strongly recommend reservations; we went on a Thursday night at seven, and it was hopping. According to their website, this is a family run business and it is so nice to support these establishments which now compete against huge chains. This is a keeper; we will return.

This italian restaurant in downtown Windsor has been in business for decades, and it shows in their attention to detail. The service is friendly and attentive without being intrusive, the wine list is excellent with options for most tastes and budgets, and the food is consistently superior. If you have room, the desserts are definitely worth trying, and they make a wonderful cappucino! There was no hurrying to get us out, and we were able to relax with coffees and conversation while digesting. If you happen to be downtown around lunch time, La Guardia offers excellent value for money. They have a three or four course lunch for under $10, and it's all the same food served at night with smaller portions.

This has become our "Go To" italian place in Windsor. There are other good options in town, but for us there is something special about this place. Every time we go the meal is consistently delicious and we receive wonderful and attentive service. There are a few things we would personally recommend. For starters, the bruschetta style bread is outstanding with perfectly ripened tomato slices, garlic and generously seasoned with italian spices. The minestrone soup is homestyle with large chunks of vegetables and tortellini. For entrees we have two favorites, one is the tortellini a la guardia and the other is the gnocchi, both of which we usually request to add in some sliced chicken breast. We can also suggest the veal marsala and the filet. For dessert they have a decadent tiramisu. If you are looking for a contemporary italian meal this is not for you, but if you like quality and old world charm then please give it a try.
