Owner description: Learn about the birth of Canadian Club whisky and the history of Hiram Walker. You will experience a guided tour through the original 1894 office building, a replica of a 16th Century Italian Renaissance Palace, highlighting the periods of the Prohibition Era. We’ll visit the Speakeasy and see where the gangster meetings took place, the boardroom that now features group of seven paintings, and the sampling room that outlines our key markets. “A great place to hold a meeting or reception”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2013

There is a beautiful view of the Detroit River. Is a lovely open space that is best suited for meetings and receptions. You must look after catering the food yourself. Nicely laid out. Centrally located. Lots of free parking.

“Third time visitor”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

It is the best place to learn some history . The prohibition time in the USA is part of the Hiram Walker's whiskey business. Have a designated driver! they are serving whiskey at the end of the tour. Summertime we sat out on the back terrace. There is so much we think we know, but after we visited this building we realized that not even half of our knowledge was there. Al Capone use to make business with Hiram Walker. Not long ago the meeting room was opened to the public. It is time well spent while you are in Windsor

“Rumrunners tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

They have lovely gardens and you can book to have wedding pictures done there. You can also call to go on a Rumrunners tour which is well worth the $60.00. This city was very prominent during the prohibition times in the US and this tour is very enlightening...

“Worth the time to visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

The visit was worth the effort. It gave us an exciting background to the past events around Windsor/Detroit during prohibition. The guide was well informed and was able to recreate the events of the era. The architecture of the building is outstanding. Recommend highly to anyone that enjoys modern history.
