“One of the nicer courses in the area”

Seven Lakes Championship Golf
More attraction details
Attraction details
Owner description: A magnificent championship layout that features links style golf, yet has lots of tree lined fairways and the seven lakes to test every golfer. Architect Bruce Matthews III designed four different courses, one for each skill level, then combined them in one overall layout that features over 100 bunkers. The course is kept in great condition, and the staff is friendly and helpful.

I say that keeping in mind that I still find it expensive. You can travel to the states and get much better deals for similar style courses. The course layout is nice, the service is good, food is good and it will challenge your game. Watch out for the fescue!

I'm not sure which was harder: finding the course or playing it! I'm glad we allowed extra time since we had never played here before. The water is not much of an issue for the red and white tees but there are plenty of other opportunities for trouble. Red tees fair from a senior female prospective. There is no layout on the card so unless you have a good GPS (which we do) be sure to look at the yardage markers at each tee. You can't always tell where you are going. The fairways zigzag a lot and there are MANY traps. You learn quickly that this is not a completely flat course, as we expected upon driving in. It's not what you would call hilly, but it's just not flat. There are also lots of grasses to get lost in if you don't hit a straight ball. Fairways and greens are fine. We played on a Monday and was pleasntly suprised to find a starter, ranger and cart gal. Pro shop only carries balls and about 10 shirts. Staff all very friendly though. Restroom on course.

This is a course similar to many in Michigan. Everyone was very friendly (especially the ranger) and the course was in pretty good shape considering it rained for a week straight before we got there. This course was very challenging due to all of the lakes (obviously) and many bunkers in the middle of the fairway a lot of the time. Sometimes the course was annoyingly hard with way too many bunkers on some holes which is why I gave this 4 stars. I also wish that they had water on the course because it was very hot which made it less enjoyable. Overall good course, but definitely not the best.
