One of the first things you should know about this hotel is that it is a long walk from the entrance to the check-in desk. You might think of this in terms of the elderly or disabled having a hard time navigating to it, but even for the most fit, dragging a lot of luggage for about one kilometre is not pleasant. The friendly front door security guy walked us to the reception desk and it would have been a bit of a chore to find it if he hadn’t.

We booked through Expedia and when we were checking in they told us that they switched our room from a king bed to two doubles. We were told there were no kings available. On a Thursday with very few people around I found this difficult to believe, especially when the desk girl told us this often happens when someone books through an outside agency. She ”upgraded” us to a room with a view of Detroit and the river.

We weren’t entirely happy with this change to our booking but we got a definite vibe that this girl was not going to give us the king bed we had originally booked.

Other than that, it’s not a bad spot at all. The room was clean and quite big, well-designed and we had a great view of Detroit across the river. The hotel is also quite conveniently located within walking distance of a lot of downtown stuff.

There is wired and wireless Internet in the rooms as well as a coffee machine. Also, taxis are almost always available right outside the front door.

The heating system in our room was a little noisy but I’ve experienced worse.

First time staying here. Was given a room in the older tower since it had a view of the river. Check in clerk was rude and could barely speak English. The room was clean and had free internet but you had to use a cord. Bathroom was clean but smelled like smoke and was dated. If I stayed again I would try the newer tower.

This hotel was the cleanest and smartly laid-out with super friendly support staff and so helpful with many questions asked. I just wish the bathroom had more than one 'hook" on the wall, lol.
Will stay again, without hesitation. The view out of the windows was sensational, whether on the US side or the Canadian city side, just lovely :)

No pun intended! Caesars is a best bet! Great facility, perfect location, lots of entertainment and dining around. Rooms are a terrific value. Great service. Free parking. Go for a walk along the river if weather permits. It's spectacularly beautiful.

Room Tip: Ask for upper floor room overlooking the river.

NEVER NEVER book an event at this casino. They did not follow up with what was promised.
They were hard to reach and hard to deal with. Sue was actually very rude to my daughter on the phone two days before the wedding.
The flowers were delivered to the front lobby in error, and it took over 1/2 hour to get them to deliver them to the room. I was not ALLOWED to push the cart through the lobby and then asked if I could carry them one by one. But they kept saying they would take care of it, but took FOREVER for them to do it. The photographer was waiting for the flowers.
The decorator was almost in tears. She had to wait one hour for someone to push the cart that held her stuff to set up the room
All the casino had to do was setup some chairs and a table. The table was forgotten and it took forever to get that brought up.
There was NO ONE in the event planning department to help us??? Three weddings and not one person to supervise and make sure things went smoothly.
We were promised a separate room and entrance for my daughter, but were told (after we booked and paid) that it was not possible. We had to pay extra to the decorator for a place for her to wait while guests arrived.
The only positive thing was that my daughter had no clue what was going on. The room was ready 5 minutes before she came in.

HORRIBLE.

The room was amazing and the room staff were the best.
