“Nice Casino Great pool and Fitness Room”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2011

Visited Caesars Windsor 10/26/11 - 10/28/11 Made reservations for Augusta Tower but when I arrived was given Forum tower-- no big deal the room was nice and clean and had a wonderful view of the Detroit skyline. The pool and sauna area was very nice. Lost my camera by the pool next day called security and they had it there. Very nice staff at this casino and hotel. The casino itself was clean-- machines were a little tight. Did not like the money exchange-- machines will not accept american money - there are lots of machines to convert your money to Canadian but the exchang rate changes dailey. First day was $20.00 American for $20.00 Canadian-- next day you only got $19.60 for american $20.00. We drove a car so we toured some of Canada--- Taxes in Canada are 13% and 16% which is very high. If you want to buy something take the bridge and go to the duty free store there and you will not pay taxes. Also to get into Canada whether its the tunnel or bridge you are charged $4.00 to enter and another $4.00 when you leave. Ate at the buffet and it was okay. The only breakfast available was at Artists Cafe it was a little pricey as was the buffet. We drove a few miles away and ate at other restaurants in the area. Took the Canadian Club tour and found this very interesting.

This casino is one of the nicer ones in the Detroit Market. One of the unique things about this property is that it is some-free. The buffet is very nice and recently remodeled. The hotel has great views, an indoor pool, and a spa. It's on the total rewards system, but comps seem to have gotten super tight.

I have stayed several times at Windsor. What I enjoy about it is the elegant look and also the quality of the rooms is superior. One downside is that 19 year olds can come. We recently were in the legends sports bar and some loud drunken ones were escorted out. I have not noticed anyone getting thrown out unless they are swearing loudly or making a scene. I am there to have a great time and appreciate the fact that the security is not going to allow a drunken patron to possible hit one of the customers or staff in a rage. If you are traveling alone, just know that crime is very low and there is little need to worry. I have been told there has not been a murder in Windor in over 10 years, and that was done by a US citizen. The lovely view of the River is magnificent and there is also several cool eatieries nearby if you get tired of the ones in the casino.

We stayed here for my birthday Thanksgiving weekend. I had a comped room for the whole weekend in the Augustus tower. The room was awsome. It has everything you need and the view of Detroit was great. My biggest complaint was the Internet costs $16 per day but they have changed thier policy and now give you a free coupon code! Now my stay is even better. This is now my favorite place to stay in Windsor. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for the Augustus tower instead of Forum tower. The rooms are newer and bigger.

The room was clean and elegant, the view of the Detroit skyline - fabulous. We had so much fun at the Casino, enjoyed meals at the Artists Cafe, their Thai salad was loaded with goodies and very generous size, you can ask to split a salad and another entree with a friend without a problem. The staff was friendly and the prices reasonable. We also enjoyed the Buffet at the Market downstairs. You have to watch you don't overdo it, but the buffet is fantastic - great choices of steaming hot meals or watch as the cooks do your stir fry from your selected items with a generous amount of your choice of meat or shrimp added at cooking. The location along the riverfront made it nice to get out for walks and the pool and gym were excellent for a little relaxation, also very clean and well organized.

I'm going to keep it short. I was refused service from the Raceway - even though they knew that i had cruise control coming to pick us up and then we reserved a room for the weekend at the casino and my husband was asked to leave even though we had a room. Both incidents were very minor - no fighting - no drunk and disorderly - no cheating. If i feel the need to do some gambling again i will be heading to Detroit to MGM or Greektown. My husband is barred for 3 months - they might as well have barred him for life because we will never go back.
