Very nice mid-range hotel. The location is very convenient and seemed safe. Very close to the Detroit-Windsor tunnel, near Caesars Windsor casino and the riverwalk. Lots of neighborhood stores and restaurants are very close, and it's a short drive if you want something like a chain restaurant or a big shopping center. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The lobby has lemon water (a water cooler with lemon slices floating in it), coffee and tea available 24 hours, and also a tray of apples and oranges. It was nice to come in late after an evening out and grab a free orange. There is also an assortment of snacks and soft drinks that you can purchase at the front desk. Parking is free and there is an elevator. Nice assortment of breakfast items - coffee and tea of course, several juices, cereals, waffle maker, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, breads, hot scrambled eggs and sausage and bacon.
The room had all expected amenities: iron and ironing board, hair dryer, Keurig machine with cups for coffee or tea, mini fridge and microwave, clock radio with an aux adapter, flat screen TV, free WiFi that had a strong signal and was easy to use. The bed was comfortable, bathroom was a good size and everything was clean. There was a sofa, coffee table and work desk in a semi-separated area. Because of the separator, you couldn't really watch TV from the sofa, only the bed area. That's the only slight down side at all, in my opinion, but no big deal. The heating and cooling unit worked great and was very quiet. I would definitely stay here again.

Booked a room in this hotel last minute while visiting Detroit.
This was our second time in this hotel after previous stay in 2014.
The hotel exceeded our expectation in terms of cleanliness, comfort and friendliness of the staff.
We liked the standard breakfast buffet that included hot omelet, coffee, selection of juices, the waffle making machine etc.
The location was in older part of the city: safe and very close to the casino and the river side walk.
The only negative was unpleasant/stale scent in the staircase area. The hotel has an elevator, so you might want to avoid going there.

Room Tip: The choice hotels points rate is a good deal for a larger suite. The presidential suite 316 view is onto the garbage pickup area.

I stayed here after business in Michigan as a base of operations for visiting Point Pelee National Park (about an hours drive east). The first night was paid for by my employer, the 2nd night I stayed on my Choice Privileges Points. Of the several Choice properties in Windsor the reward level (10k points) was considerably better (lower) and the accomodations were fine. As other reviewers noted its a bit dated and the neighborhood is kind of meh, looks to be an abandoned house right across the street with piled up bags of garbage in the yard directly opposite the hotel entrance. Yuk...Walking around during the day at least I felt safe, not sure about at night though. My other option was to stay right near Point Pelee in Leamington but the rewards level was almost 3x higher the amount of points, overall I think this was a good choice, A/C and internet worked fine. Breakfast was ok, staff friendly, not many nice restaurants within walking distance though. The greek pita place one block away was good for take out to walk back to the room. Would stay here again if I had the chance to repeat, but this part of Windsor could use some urban renewal.

Check in was friendly and efficient. The room was acceptably clean but showing signs of age: the carpet had a strip that was repaired with a rubberized product that feels strange to step on, there was staining on the ceiling and the giant green Jacuzzi was dripping water all night. (Yes, the room had a giant green hot tub in the corner... it me me laugh.)

Breakfast was hilarious as the "eggs" were simply presented as a giant brick 'o egg (see picture). I went for the waffles which were fine.

Checkout was courteous but the manager's body language conveyed utter defeat. The gent was helpful enough, but probably would rather have been anywhere other than behind the desk of a Comfort Suite in Windsor at 6am on a Monday.

This hotel was nice and clean. The staff was all very friendly and rooms perfectly fit the descriptions. This hotel is on the edge of a sketchy neighborhood, but only by a block. It is a short walk to everything from here. Where you catch the tunnel bus is about 1km and Oulette street restaurants & bars are less than that.
Your stay even comes with a breakfast that includes sausage, eggs, yogurt, waffles & fresh fruit.
