Dark and intimate setting, delicious food. You won't walk away hungry.

The whole family loves it! There is no better restaurant in Windsor! Even my son who turned 17 asked to go there for his birthday. We have been going there for almost 30 years and it continues to be the best!

After reading reviews on Trip Advisor, I made a reservation at this restaurant given its high rating. Since I much prefer an independent restaurant to a predictable chain establishment, I'm always willing to take the risk and try whatever I can find. In this case, the risk paid off. The Cook's Shop is a warm, welcoming place with a unique, character-filled atmosphere. As soon as you walk down the entrance stairs and into the restaurant, you feel like you're not in Windsor anymore! The staff were quick, friendly and helpful, contributing to our fabulous experience. The menu is great - lots of fun Italian options for everyone (totally one of those places where you can't decide on what to order because you want to order at least five!) Entrees come with Caesar Salad and bread, both delicious. I'm so glad we chose this restaurant - I highly recommend it to all!

Driving down the empty, snow swept streets of Ouellete Ave in Windsor I was afraid this place was closed as there was not another car or person in sight. The sign is very small and the house and basement where the Cook's Shop is located are easy to miss, but boy oh boy was it worth the trip. This place is superb.

Entering the cozy, dimly lit interior I surprisingly found this place to be almost full on a Tuesday night in January. Seems popular- reservations are probably a good idea if you are making this a destination on a Friday or Saturday.

Menu is Italian/French and very reasonably priced. Service was brisk and no nonsense. Entrees served hot like they are supposed to be (unlike in my stupid country where everything is served lukewarm) and come with great bread and crisp salad. Wine served in litres- get the house red. Food was delicious and well presented. Bill for 3 with starters, entrees and lots of wine: $119 CAD.

For such a small city, Windsor has a surprising number of great restaurants but this place has to be the best. I shall return.

Overall a good meal. Very generous portions, great service, good location. Pasta dishes looked great... My NY strip steak was average... Good deserts and coffee was only 50 cents!
