get to Toronto every summer and I've eaten here for three successive years. It's terrific. It features food from Malabar (SW India). Hot and wonderful. Malabar chicken (like KFC but from heaven), beef syrian, squid thoran (w/ chopped coconut), fish vatichathu. Some additional great dishes are available only on weekends. If “too hot” is in your vocabulary, don’t go above Medium, especially with the Malabar chicken. There is an interesting bread as well called Appam. It's sort of a rice/lentil pancake that thin at the edges and thickens toward the center; bottom side is clearly the one that was on the griddle.
The room is perfectly OK without being fancy, the service is attentive and your questions get answers you can understand. The prices are good. And the food is sublime.
