“Excellent beer list, beer-infused menu”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

Came here for an early dinner on a Sunday. We made OpenTable reservations easily about an hour in advance. Our waitress was very nice and helpful in guiding menu selections.

The beer list was extensive and had some great Belgians. I had a Bockor Cuvée des Jacobins, which was sour and delicious. The beer menu is broken out into categories, such as Robust, Spicy and Satisfying.

The menu also suggests which category of beer would pair best with each dish. I tried one of their pizzas, the Drunken Mushroom, which was very tasty. The portions were large, so I didn't end up eating the whole meal. A majority of the dishes on the menu seem to incorporate beer into some element of the dish too, which I thought was cool.

The overall decor of the restaurant was a little bland, but I enjoyed the food and beer immensely.

“Just OK, thought it would be better”
Reviewed September 3, 2013 via mobile

We went to 3 spots on our own "beer tour" of the city and this was our least favourite. Boring atmosphere, seats on the patio were the most uncomfortable chairs ever. The mussels were very good and the service was good, but drinks were average. Probably wouldn't go out of my way to go back but it wasn't terrible or anything

“Try the frites!”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

We wre able to sit on the patio and had a great time chatting with friends. The frites were as good as usual, but we found the mussels to be a little disappointing. Still, a great place and it is always busy, so that is a good sign.

“Most menu items use beer as an ingredient”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

We were curious about the menu since nearly every item has beer in it. We arrived at 6 pm on a Wednesday and the outdoor terrace was nearly full with the after-work crowd. The indoor seating area has a section for drinks/appetizers and another area for patrons who want dinner.

The server is very knowledgeable about the beer and food. We tried the Indian-style butter chicken made with stout and the beer batter fried chicken. They were okay but we would likely order other items if we were to come back to this restaurant (the other reviewers seem to enjoy the mussels. fries and pulled pork sandwich).

The restaurant is very nice in the Financial District on King Street East right off Yonge Street. Entrees were $14-$20. There is a separate menu just for beer.

“Nice downtown choice”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

We happened upon Beer Bistro by chance, and whilst we were a bit put-off by the appearance - a bit concrete and corporate - we saw that there were a lot of people eating (always a good sign). We received a very warm welcome by the staff, and were seated outside on request. Beer choice was excellent and the waiter knowledgeable. Food choice was a little limited, but it came quick and was well-cooked.
